Payment methods
For your convenience, we offer a number of different payment methods in-store and online. Please note that other finance options are available but not all of them are accessible directly through the online checkout.
PB Tech charges a surcharge on some payment options offered to its customers. The exact amount of any surcharge is clearly displayed during the online checkout and on notices in-store. Learn more about why some payment methods incur a surcharge.
Payment options with no surcharge
CASH, EFTPOS or Debit Card

Swipe or insert your EFTPOS or Debit Card in-store (not payWave).
Online EFTPOS
ONLINE ONLY
Online EFTPOS enables you to pay online with your smart phone directly from your bank app. Not only is it the safer and easier way to pay online, it's also one of the most secure payment methods available today as you never need to expose your payment or banking credentials. Internet Banking (Pay with POLi)
ONLINE ONLY
POLi is an easy to use system that combines the security of internet banking with the speed of payment of a credit card payment. Orders paid by POLi are not subject to delays like traditional Bank Transfer payments as the money is transferred directly when an order is placed. Currently we do not accept giftcard payments, or store credit if you pay by by POLi. Learn more about POLi.
Bank Transfer

If you don't have a credit card you can easily pay for your order by a bank deposit direct to our ANZ bank account.

PB Tech Gift Card
IN-STORE & ONLINE
PB Tech gift cards can be redeemed for goods sold at any New Zealand PB Tech store or online through our website. To redeem the gift card, simply present it at the time of purchase in store or on the Cart page select the checkbox 'Redeem PB Tech Gift Card' and enter your gift card number, when checking out online. PB Gift cards are valid for 1 year from date of purchase, are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash. You can purchase a PB Tech Gift Card online or in-store. Only one PB Tech Gift Card can be used in a transaction. PB Tech Gift Cards can not be used to purchase digital products.
Store/Online Credit

Store credit can only be used in PB Tech stores. You can request to have your store credit transferred to your online PB Tech account to be used for online purchases by emailing us at [email protected]
If your PB Tech online account has credit, you will see the amount displayed on the Cart page when signed into your online account. To use your online credit, just tick the checkbox next to the displayed credit amount and proceed through the online checkout. If your credit does not cover the full balance of your transaction, you will be prompted on the billing page to select a second payment method to cover the difference. Credit can not be redeemed for cash.
Purple Visa
IN-STORE & ONLINE
You can use Purple Visa to make purchases at PB Tech and receive at least 12 months interest free on purchases. On promotional days (as advertised from time to time) you could get an extended interest free period. To use Purple Visa online simply select Purple Visa as your payment type when you check-out. Purple Visa can also be used in store.

Payment options with a surcharge
payWave
IN-STORE ONLY
Tap / wave your debit card, credit card or Apple Pay / Google Pay enabled device in-store using payWave. Incurs a 1% surcharge.
Credit / Debit Card
We currently accept NZ, USA, UK, Australia & Singapore Visa and MasterCard cards.
On the Billing page of the checkout there is an option to save your credit / debit card to your online account.
You can view and remove your saved credit / debit cards on your online account on the Saved Credit Cards page of your account.
Credit / debit cards incur a 1% surcharge for online payments. Credit cards incur a 1% surcharge for in-store payments.
When shopping online you may be asked to authenticate yourself during payment processing by using a one-time SMS passcode sent to your mobile phone from your bank. Learn more about credit card security checks.
Apple Pay
IN-STORE & ONLINE
Apple Pay is available (IOS devices only) on the Credit Card payment page when paying via credit card through our online checkout. Apple Pay is also available instore via payWave. Incurs a 1% surcharge.
China UnionPay
IN-STORE & ONLINE
PB Tech now accepts payment with China UnionPay credit cards. Incurs a 2.5% surcharge.
Afterpay (Personal Finance)
IN-STORE & ONLINE
Deciding what to buy is hard, but paying for it doesn't have to be. Afterpay lets you receive the item now and spread the payments over 4 interest free installments over 6 weeks. Incurs a 1% surcharge. Learn more about Afterpay.
Klarna (Personal Finance)
ONLINE ONLY
Buy now and pay later. Klarna lets you split the cost of your purchase into 4 payments, paid every 2 weeks with no interest and no fees when you pay on time. Incurs a 2.5% surcharge. Learn more about Klarna.
Q Card Mastercard / Q EFTPOS Card (Personal Finance)
IN-STORE & ONLINE
You can use Q Card to make purchases at PB Tech and receive at least 3 months no payments and no interest (Payment Holiday) on your purchase. On promotional days (as advertised from time to time) you could get an extended Payment Holiday period.
To use Q Card online simply select 'Q Card' as your payment type when you checkout, enter your Q Card number, expiry date and CVV number (your CVV number is a 3 digit number displayed on the back on your Q Card). Q Card can also be used in store.
A PB Tech surcharge of 2.5% applies for all Q Card EFTPOS transactions and a 1% surcharge applies for all Q Mastercard EFTPOS transactions.

GEM Visa (Personal Finance)
IN-STORE & ONLINE
You can use Gem Visa to make purchases at PB Tech and receive at least 6 months interest free on purchases $250 or more. On promotional days (as advertised from time to time) you could get an extended interest free period.
To use Gem Visa online simply select Gem Visa as your payment type when you check-out, enter your Gem Visa number, expiry date and CVV number (your CVV number is a 3 digit number displayed on the back on your Gem Visa card). Gem Visa can also be used in store.
A PB Tech surcharge of 1% applies for all Gem Visa transactions in-store.

Farmers Finance Card
IN-STORE & ONLINE
You can now use your Farmers Finance Card to make online purchase at PBTech.co.nz and receive 55 days no payments and no interest on your purchase. To use your Farmers Finance Card online simply select 'Farmers Finance Card' as your payment type when you check-out, enter your Farmers Finance Card number, embossed name, date of issue and date of birth. Please note that Farmers Card payments are charged an additional 2.5% surcharge.
