Unitek BF-810Y USB to Serial Adapter - 1.5m

Purchased one of these for accessing the console of networking equipment. Have used it to access Cisco, Unifi, and HPE gear without issues. Using my HP Elitebook 8460p (Ex lease from PB tech, and still going strong) with Windows 10 I have not issues in using it. It works plug and play out of the box, no drivers needed. Not sure about windows 7 or 8 nor if it will work under Linux. Note you will still need a console cable to link to your equipment (not included).
