Apple M1: Ethernet does not connect after wake from sleep
I've found that the ethernet adapter does not connect automatically after my Apple M1 laptop wakes from sleep. All other usb and hdmi devices work. The workaround is to disconnect and reconnect the usb-c plug after the laptop wakes up.
This seems to be a known issue with the Realtek 8153 chipset and Apple laptops. So be aware.
Does what it says
Seems well-built. I plugged it in and it worked. It sits out of sight on my desk - so hard to get too excited about it but does what I wanted,
Horrible ethernet connection
I bought this device because I need ethernet along with USB3 ports on my Macbooks. However, it has really bad connection stability. Adapter randomly mark ethernet connection as disconnected, and refuse to reconnect until whole adapter re-connected. Same problem happens for both intel and m2 macbooks.
USB3 is working fine. Card reader and HDMI I haven't tried.
Great for the price!
Quite impressed with this unit, small but does the job, connected micro sd and SD with 1 monitor, and it's holding up.
Wish the cord was longer tho.

Solid reliable hub
I bought two Satechi hubs, slightly cheaper one for myself and this model for work. The work one is still chugging along after eight months. The personal one? the HDMI never worked and then the rest of it died. Here's where PB Tech stepped up, took it back, gave me store credit and I promptly turned around and bought one of these instead. So thank you PB Tech, both of these hubs are still going strong. It gets hot after some time but this doesn't seem to affect it's performance. Works perfectly for both my Windows PC and Macbook.
