This adapter lets you add a high-speed, 4-lane M.2 SSD (PCIe-based), such as a Samsung 950 Pro or Samsung SM 951, to a PC with an available x4 PCI Express expansion slot. You can mount the PCIe M.2 drive directly onto the adapter, giving you an easy and convenient way to improve your system performance and expand overall internal storage.


Boost your system speed and performance

The expansion card lets you take full advantage of the fast performance and compact size of PCIe M.2 internal solid-state drives. The adapter connects directly to your computer motherboard to support an M.2 PCIe-based SSD (NVMe or AHCI) through ultra-fast x4 PCIe. The adapter is compatible with PCIe 3.0 motherboards and is also backward compatible with PCIe 2.0 and PCIe 1.0. With the M.2 PCIe based drive in place, the adapter gives your computer a significant speed boost.


Supports PCIe M.2 SSDs

The adapter supports PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe (M Key) and PCIe-AHCI M.2 SSDs including 2242, 2260, 2280, and 22110 drives. The expansion slot adapter supports the most common drive sizes including 110 mm, 80 mm, 60 mm and 42 mm.


Easy to install

Works as described

I went through 2 Orico branded ones that didn't work with my MB before finally going back and getting this one on the staff recommendation. Worked straight away with no issues and my drive is performing perfectly!

Simple way to add fast storage!

Purchased for an HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF to allow the use of an NVMe drive. Purchased a Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB SSD, and it worked perfectly. Can confirm this setup was able to be bootable too, which is great!

Simple setup, just plug and play.

A Fantastic SSD drive Adaptor for the price

This saved me as my mother board wouldn't except the 1TB SSD drive to use as an operating system as my motherboard was to old LOL so bought this and Am now using my SSD drive as storage with wicked read and writes , so impressed by this little Adaptor it rocks.

Good product and works on low profile PCs

Have got two of these and two more on order. These come with a second i/o bracket to fit into low profile PCs which I have used them in. A good quality product, very easy to set up and install, and works just as expected.

Not getting the speeds of my drive which I thought I would, not sure if this is related however system found it and install OS no issues, drive is working.

A great purchase for older pc’s that cannot house a M2 NVme SSD card.

Worked a treat in my older pc, very happy, i now have super fast Load time with games and other programs

Works great, my PC can boot from NVMe SSD installed on this card.

I disconnected the 2.5" SATA SSD in an older PC, a HP ProDesk G2 600, and installed this card with a new WD Blue SN580. Plugged in a bootable USB flash with Ubuntu and switched the PC on. The computer found the SSD and Ubuntu installed fine, no problem at all. Booting from the SSD works fine.

A benchmark showed about 3300 MB/s throughput, so this PCI-E card is much faster than any SSD connected via SATA.

Really happy that this StarTech card work flawlessly. I did a little research and looked for a card that just works without any fiddling, including boot. This StarTech card is maybe a little more expensive than no-name brand items, but Star...view more

Returns & Warranty

7 day right of exchange

If you change your mind after making a purchase, or realise you have ordered the incorrect item, you can enjoy the peace of mind that we offer a 7 day exchange policy.

To exchange a product, goods must be sealed and unopened, with packaging in original condition, accompanied by a valid receipt dated no more than 7 calendar days from when you request an exchange. A 20% restocking fee may be applied where goods are not returned in sealed, original packaging condition.

If there is not a suitable product that can be exchanged for your returned item you will be offered a credit on your account or gift card based on the value paid at the time of purchase. Items purchased on finance cannot be exchanged for a gift card.

 

Hassle free warranty service

If your product develops a fault within the manufacturer warranty period, you can either contact the manufacturer directly (some manufacturers provide a high level of warranty service - including free pickup or in some cases onsite repair), or return to one of our services centres / stores. Where the product has been directly imported by PB Tech, you need to contact us directly or present the product at any one of our service centres / stores together with your proof of purchase.

If your product develops a fault outside of the manufacturer warranty or PB Tech warranty period, we offer a full repair service and are an authorised repair agent for leading brands such as Samsung, HP, Toshiba, Lenovo and more.
