ONEX GX330 Gaming Chair - Pink White

Quality is a step up from the $200ish rubbish you get from trademe but it seems like "gaming" chair manufacturers are either tiny human beings or have never actually taken part in a decent gaming session.

Pro's:
-The high back is good and the lumbar and head cushions are decently comfortable after a bit of jiggling around.
-The castors are better than I expected and function well even on carpet.
-The chair looks great.

Con's:
-The chair, even at its lowest level, sits higher than most which means anyone below average height will struggle to sit and keep their feet on the ground.

-The armrests take very little force to rotate and do so constantly. Not sure why this is even a feature tbh.
-The seat base design and materials are plain bad. Within a couple of hours the tiny amount of cushioning on the seat base wings had gone, leaving a metal bar on both sides. If you don't always sit with your knees basically touching, you'll have metal bars digging into the outside of your thighs.
-The "high density memory foam" or whatever the seat base cushion is made out is average at best. 4 hours into my first game night using this chair and it felt like I was sitting on plywood. I just don't understand how car seats from the 80's still manage to be more comfortable than a purpose built $300+ "gaming chair".

So yeah. It works. Probably be a great chair for kids or teenagers but any average adult who spends a decent amount of time in front of their computer will find this disappointing.

I'm slightly on the thiccer side and the dimensions given for the seat aren't accurate, the actual seating area is smaller. The sides of the seat dig in if you have them thicc thighs. This chair looks incredible with my setup, love the colours. It was a little difficult to put together by myself due to its weight and tightening of the screws so I would recommend you find someone to help you with that. I did find the sides of the seat itself to be a little hard but It may just need softening which will occur over time, but I don’t see it being an issue if you don’t have bigger thighs like myself. I was really looking forward to this purchase since all the reviews were so positive. Unfortunately, I found that the only thing supportive about it was the cushions it came with rather than the chair itself. The base of it is quite hard and it feels like I'm sitting on a wooden chair. Unfortunately, I'm quite small (5'2) and the chair won't lower much so my feet can't touch the ground which causes the chair to swing whilst I'm using it. Overall it was easy to assemble but the negatives outway the positives. It's likely that this chair and its price point are designed for people who have no experience using gaming chairs. I think spending an extra $100 to buy a better chair would be more worth it.

The second of these chairs I've purchased from this brand. They fixed the issue with the wobbly arms for this model, which was the only issue I had with the last one. Using this during lockdown working at home has made it possible to sit at my desk all day without getting back soreness and fatigue. Highly recommend! I was quite surprised at the quality for a gaming chair in this price range. I'm around 1.8m, medium build and this chair fits me perfectly. It is quite a high chair, to have both my feet flat on the ground, the chair needs to be at it's lowest setting. This is not a problem for me, but for someone like my wife it is too high.

The only disappointing factor in this purchasing experience was that there were no floor (demo) models to try in the Hamilton store. At first the staff were not very helpful! The first two would only show me a computer screen with their website on it, wanting me to choose a chair by looking at their website. Just replaced this chair as it was falling apart, the cheap foam armrests peeled within a week of purchase. Alongside that, the chair is really loud plus the side bits dig in really bad to my thighs. The chair's back broke after 2 years, even though it was used by my son weighing only around 65kg.

He loved the chair's laying down position, but he didn't use it all the time, and nevertheless it still shouldn't break after only 2 years.

So, it seems that this ONEX model is either using cheap materials, or it has a bad design (wrongly calculated), so it is not recommended either way! Now I know why ONEX provides only 12 month's warranty,

We've always had gaming chairs but finding quality ones without costing a small fortune is hard. We now have 3 of these chairs. They are so easy to put together and so comfy, I even bought one to use at work. I recently bought this pink one and the only small issue was the gas chamber wouldn't quite go into the wheel base so we had to modify it slightly but otherwise it's great. I have had this chair for 14 months.

I am 181cm tall and if i sit up straight, part of the framing on either side digs into my shoulder blades.
also the slightly raised framing on either side of the seat forces me to entirely close my legs, resulting in the crushing of my nether regions.
to get the chair to be more comfortable i just violently encouraged the framing either side of the seat to widen so that I could sit without

i have found that the cushioning is not good. it does not take long for the seat to feel uncomfortable. so extended gaming sessions or work from home on this seat are not ideal.

i have found that the cushioning is not good. it does not take long for the seat to feel uncomfortable. so extended gaming sessions or work from home on this seat are not ideal.
the parts that allow the seat to lean back have broken so when the chair leans, it leans back and then to the corner slightly.
the arm rests broke within the first few months of ownership.

other people much thinner and shorter than me have used my chair and have found it to be uncomfortable.

one good thing is the fabric,
i have spent thousands of hours in this chair and the fabric has retained its colour and has not worn out at all.
