AMD Ryzen 7 5700G CPU

Runs all my old software, better than previously.
Also runs Cyberpunk and modded Skyrim.
(W/ only 32gb ram)
WITH NO GPU.
I'm satisfied.

I needed a CPU with an included APU/graphics processor for my virtualisation needs and it did the job perfectly, however it is significantly underpowered for any heavy loads like games.
The CPU itself should be perfect for any needs, including 8 zen 3 cores with hyperthreading. If paired with a powerful GPU, most games will not be CPU limited.

I went for AMD rather than Intel because from my experience it handles heat better. In hot weather, the I7 cpu's in our PCs were overheating but the AMDs were still running.
This one is in a PC that will have a much higher workload and so far has performed flawlessly. Elsewhere I'd have paid at least $20 more. While my room is quite cold, it still never once went above 65c, very impressed with the cooler's performance. The multiple cores and threads also help a lot with streaming and the vega 8 integrated into it is surprisingly more stable than my laptops mobile 1650. Would recommend. The CPU has great thermals and performance for the price. The onboard graphics is surprisingly competitive at 1080p and even better at lower resolutions. While you won't be getting high framerates in aaa games you can still expect a playable experience in these and in less demanding games you can even push upwards of 240fps at 1080p. The 5700g renders entry level GPUs like the rx 6400 and 6500 pretty much pointless, especially if price is any consideration.

That said it's probably made up for by the integrated graphics which, even if you do have a dedicated GPU can still both help take some of the strain off that dedicated GPU and provide a well usable fallback should that fail for any reason.

Had the Ryzen 3 3100 before and could not get an OS installed - looked like that the USB or any disk access was flaky at best. Took ages to find out. But 3100 is on MSI's the list of supported CPUs.

However, the 5700G works without problems. PBTech accepted the claim and return was no hassle.

Good performance, been running at 4.3Ghz for 2 weeks now. Stable, and the included wraith stealth cooler has no problem keeping it cool for my purposes (mainly desktop apps including video and audio editing). Highly recommend.
