I'm rendering hour long 4k videos in under 15 minutes now, it's quite simply insane. It's also a beast for gaming so how could I recommend anything else? So my upgrade was from a 3950x to this , I was a bit ho hum about if I should do it , the numbers didn’t seem all that much better ... however .... it’s a very different animal and well worth the shift . I'm a game developer, so using Unity to build my game project was taking for various platforms between 8-12 minutes with my Ryzen 2700X.

I upgraded to the 5950X and the Samsung 980 PRO SSD (I had an older Samsung SSD before), and the times were cut down from 8 minutes, to 2.5 minutes, and the builds taking 12 minutes cut down to about 5 minutes.

Very happy with my purchase, I matched this with the gigabyte aorus extreme 570x motherboard and lots of fast ram and some quick M.2 drives. Never had such a capable PC that I can throw anything at from rendering, video work to playing games. Totally overkill but so great.
Pro: all the cores and super fast, if you want pretty much the best CPU there is then look no further.
Con: It's a premium product so pricy, also in short supply right now...probably overkill for most. Huge performance jump from my 3900x, boost well over 5ghz all the time on many cores, using a 360 AIO temps stay well under control and nowhere near thermal limits. Fantastic part. Fastest single-threaded CPU out there... and it has 32 of them. Runs my workloads (software compiling) about 3x faster than my 2700x. The CPU is obviously super. But I got a motherboard which meager VRM couldn't handle the CPU power (it was hanging with black screen under load).

This is just stupid fast along side the hero5 motherboard and 6900xt It makes massive zip drive extractions seem like a quick loading bar. I've never been on a computer this fast before and loving it.
