Cruxtec USB-C to M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure - Aluminum, 10Gbps

First USB enclosure I've bought so I don't have much to compare it to, but inclusion of USB A-C & C-C cables is a good start.
Strong aluminium case but theres no heatsink, and a space between the SSD and metal case means there's not much contact for heat dissipation.
Data transfer speed seems ok, although my USB 3 setup is antiquated & USB bus will always limit performance compared to PCIe.
One thing I noticed is that a Crucial 1TB SSD was detected by the TV USB input, but my Kingston 1TB SSD was not - exact same drive image/ file system (NTFS) on both SSD's.

2. The device is attempting to initialize in the system, but the Samsung 980 Pro (256 GB) disk not showing up in the system were it works fine when connected to the PCI-E bus via StarTech riser card.
3. One from me - no manual to follow, no troubleshooting suggestions either. And yes - this "company" have no website. Hopeless...

Build quality is excellent and it works very well. Has both USB & USB-C cables in packet as well as additional screws in the pack.
The enclosure stayed cool in when upgrading my sons Laptop M.2 SSD to a Lexar 790 1TB 4th Gen M.2 using Clonenzilla software.

We've tested it with a known good NVMe drive, moved the drive back and forth between slots and the enclosure, and it just doesn't work. Whenever it's plugged in, it just asks us to initialise the drive again, but fails to do anything if you say yes. Cruxtec doesn't seem like it's even a real company. Not used this sort of device before but it was a life saver when my laptop had major power failure issues and no access to any of the data on the SSD.
I'm not gifted or knowledgeable in this area of tech but I managed to work it out after removing the 1TB SSD and transferring all data to another smaller SSD.
At least some basic user instructions would have been useful but there's nothing. I guess it's anticipated that only qualified IT techs will use it.
I was surprised how hot the case became, which is not surprising when the whole thing is totally encased without any ventilation. All that said, it is a very useful gadget to have in your IT toolbox.

Heats up a little, indicating good heat sinking away from the m.2 drive 👍 not sure where to keep the extra screws and mini screw driver tho, feels like they might get lost, but I'm not sure I'd ever swap with a different size drive (Samsung 970 EVO) so losing spare parts isn't a big deal. This is the second enclosure I have purchased. Very easy setup and runs without a hitch.

It does get very hot but that is due to the ssd working hard.

Bought it at the Hornby store on the recommendation of staff. I was after something that would let me clone my drive for a ssd upgrade. Was easy to use and worked perfectly. Unit works well, includes screw driver, and USB-C and USB-A cables.
