Been running stock coolers on my pc for most of it's existence since it never really got hot, that changed when I accidently took a CPU (Ryzen 5 3400g) off with the cooler when attempting to replace thermal paste which resulted in a broken pin. however when I replaced it with a better CPU (Ryzen 5 5600x) it instead started thermal throttling which wasn't great for lifespan, and after a long search for a cooler that was consistently at or near the top while lasting long and having a long warranty, this one stood out. This isn't a sponsored review and with it's pricetag being fairly high, it's still a lot cheaper then decent AIO's and doesn't really require any maintenance as youtube videos seem to show, but I speak highly of it as the temp used to be high 80-90s with just Rocket League and slightly modded Minecraft open, and is now solidly 50-60 with everything open occasionally reaching low 70s temporarily.

I replaced my AIO with this since I started having issues with it. Turns out my 5900x performs better with this anyway even when I didn't have issues with the AIO now getting around 22,000 in CInebench R23 instead of 20,500ish. I'm also of the opinion now after years of building PC's just go with air cooling it's just more reliable by far plus looking these up as long as you keep proof of purchase Noctua will send you the latest mounting hardware free I replaced my AIO with this since I started having issues with it. I have always used this Noctua NH D15 Twin Fan CPU air cooler for all my High End PC builds. I am currently using it again on my last build which is a ASUS Rampage 6 Extreme motherboard running an Intel i9 9900X with 10 cores, 20 threads, 64 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM and RTX2080 Video card. The pc is coming up to 5 years old now and this NH D15 has never missed a beat, moves a lot of air, is very quiet as I never hear it at all, and my CPU Temperature never moves above 45-48 C degrees even under load. Just make sure you have enough room for the height of yr ram and use the low profile version if you have to. My case is a full size ATX Cosmos 700P.

Noctua is a world renowned company that is very well-known for its excellent fans. With two of Noctua's 140mm fans, this cooler performs fantastically well.

Inaudible when not under load, and only in extreme situations one can hear the fans. The optional noise reduction cables can help to reduce noise for cases with suboptimal fan control.

Unlike with a water-cooling approach, there are no pump noises, there is no pump that can fail, and no connections that can leak.

This is a big cooler so you definitely need to check whether your case supports it. With low profile RAM, both fans can sit at the same height. This is a big cooler so you definitely need to check whether your case supports it. With low profile RAM, both fans can sit at the same height. With higher RAM (typical for many RAM sticks with RGB or built-in cooling fins) one of the fans can be offset, but that further increases the space requirements (distance from motherboard to the side of the case).

I had an old heatsink and fan and my I7-9700k was getting 100°C temps while gaming. Bought this product and it dropped to 60°C while gaming with only one of its fans installed! Excellent product. Noctua, quality and performance in the one package. Dropped the CPU temp by 40% and fans are so much quieter. Did not want to go with water cooling, and more than happy with the performance. Noctua lNH-d15 stand on its reputation my CPU temp hardly touch 85 degrees even in extreme workload and I'm using 13th gen i7 I don't have any issue. also, i hardly hear any noise.
