Microsoft Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2

I bought this, solely for playing a console port game on PC. Deus X Machina (Acquired for free from Epic Store) was next to impossible to control with any degree of accuracy, so I asked a very good friend of mine for recommendations on a good controller to be able to continue to play the game with my friends.

He said that this one was the best that money could buy. He was not wrong! However, what he didn't tell me, was that to get the best experience, you also need to buy the Microsoft Xbox wireless Adapter/Receiver for PC

I tried it for a few days first, using just my Bluetooth adapter, but it was laggy, and often gave false inputs, missed inputs, or delayed inputs, which got me killed more times than I'm comfortable to mention, so I also bought the above adapter.

The controller then became the best controller I have ever used!

Firstly, the controller connects to the Bluetooth adapter, usually, after a few seconds, but could sometimes take 10-15 seconds, or just fail altogether. I must have forced reconnection about a dozen times, even deleting the device and re-pairing it to my computer, until I bought the Adapter, and it all changed! It will connect within a second of pressing the XBOX button on the controller. There is zero input lag, that I noticed, and it stays connected without issue for however long you want to play for. The battery will last for a little over 40 hours of solid gameplay on one full charge. and it charges from dead flat to fully charged in about three to four hours or so, but just a ten minute charge will give you about an hour, so you can finish your game, or get to a save point or whatever, plus, you can also plug it in to your computer directly, to charge and play at the same time, and it will automatically become a wired controller when you do this!

While it is an expensive device, it is, in my humble opinion, well worth the expense, if you can afford it, and you really must have the best! And let's face it, we do want the best, don't we?

I haven't even mentioned that this controller is fully programmable, so you can set the buttons and triggers to do whatever keystroke or function that you want, and you can even set different trigger sensitivity/travel on the left and right trigger switches. It can switch on the fly between default and up to three of your preset on board configuration profiles.

If that doesn't make you want one, then nothing will!

Another feature, if that wasn't enough, is that you can easily remove and swap the thumb sticks AND the direction pad. Just pull them up and they pop right off, and you simply put another in their place, where they will stay by the neodymium magnets built into the device. The same goes for the four hidden paddle switches on the underside. Oh, didn't I mention them before? Well, there are four paddle switches nestled underneath the controller, right where your fingers will naturally site when you're holding the controller. By default, they're disabled, but can be activated in the config app when you are connected by the supplied 3 metre cable. These paddles can be set to carry out any function you want them to be, whether a keyboard key press, or a controller button press. You choose how you want this thing to work. If you don't like the paddles, you can tilt them and pull them off, and store them in the really cool carry/storage case, which also houses the spare controller pieces, the cable, and the charger block. Incidentally, you don't need to charge it in the case, because the charger block is also built with magnets, so you can pull it out of the case to charge on your desk, or wherever you like. Just place the controller on the charger block and it's magnets will line it up with the electrical contacts. This device is engineered so well, that you will wonder how you ever got on without it!

It's designed to work with both PC and Xbox one console too!

Thought I was buying it brand new but when I opened the box, I can see that the paddles are already attached to the controller and the thumbstick have visible markings showing usage.

What i've found over having multiple of these controllers and using them for 3hours daily over 2months is that you either get one that has multiple faults or it is perfect if your lucky enough to get one with no faults or random ghost pressing then this is an absolutely incredible controller however you may have a faulty one in which case don't worry they're under warranty and you can send them back to get fixed or replaced. Feels great, have always used this controller but previous one started having issues after 4 years of daily use. Definitely durable and will improve your gameplay and overall experience especially in FPS games. Interchangeable sticks means I can use different styles for different games, and they just attach magnetically so I can swap them out easy peasy. Paddles on the back are great for games with mappable button layouts - really cool for FPS's in particular. The carry case it comes in is really nice, great for holding all the attachments - and you can charge the controller while it's zipped up in the case.
