I replaced the failed hard drive in an old 4th gen i5 laptop with this SSD and the difference is night and day. Running Windows 10 Pro, the laptop is now super responsive and snappy and boots in seconds. It really feels like a new machine. I was a little worried that this SSD was not as fast as some of the more expensive ones but I didn't need to worry - this is more than fast enough and I don't really notice any difference between this and my newer, more expensive SSD in everyday tasks. The Crucial software failed several times as did a few others. I eventually had success with AOMEI Backupper Standard, free from https://www.backup-utility.com/.

This was a replacement for an older SSD. Using the software available through Crucial's website the transfer was straightforward and the SSD performs perfectly. Awesome upgrade for my laptop. This is the second laptop I have added a SSD to. This has taken my wifes 18month old i5 2 core laptop to a respectable speed.
Startup is around 16 sec, all software opens with out any hang time. Recommend this to anyone wanting to put new life into an old laptop. The first laptop I did this to is an i7 and is now 5 years old. SSD upgrades are a cheap option for extending the life and improving the function of and older laptop/PC.
