bit noisy
little bit noisier than smaller (4TB), but that's be expected. Working great in NAS
Capacity for days
Bought these drives to grade the capacity for my Synology NAS.
They are a little loud (likely the location of the NAS and drive configuration), they are less loud now that I reconfigured my array storage in the NAS 3x 8Tb's as one array and the 3x 3Tb's as the second array. Other than that so far so good. If your NAS has a special place that is out of the way and noise is not an issue and the noise was not constant I am guessing during wake up and and when maintenance tasks are running.

Probably the first thing I noticed was it can be noisy when dealing with the data but other than that it works great and has enough space for everything I need it to store all programs loading and working from the drive works well.
Bought to add to Synology NAS
It took a while to sort out the new configuration for the NAS because I wanted the additional space and did not need it as a RAID drive.
The 8TB Iron Wolf works perfectly and complements my existing Iron Wolf disk.
Good also as a single drive solution
Bought this drive for my desktop as a general data drive. I also have a NAS for backups of said Data drive.
This drive performs much faster as it's a 7200RPM drive than my older smaller drive at 5400RPM. It was a noticeable change,
Solid operation
Purchased this to replace an SMR drive, unaware of the difference originally and the reason for the large cost difference. This drive is a lot more expensive, but so much faster in operation, particularly when getting full.
Exceptional product
I turned three of these into a RAID5 array so it can survive a disk failure. Everything works well, and I'm pleasantly surprised with how fast they are.

When replacing a failed 4TB RAID drive the replacement price was about the same as an 8TB, so it was a no-brainer to future-proof and start replacing with larger drives.
Yes, the drive is a little louder than a smaller drive, but hey it is a larger disk and works harder.
You can't really go wrong with the warranty either :-)
A great drive
Its a good drive for NAS (in my case Truenas using zfs pools), and it just performs. Its a bit more expensive, but that is because of performance. The cheaper drives are typically 5600 rpm and these are 7200 rpm. So the performance (read and more particularly write) is better.
