Unreliable – Lost Critical Data and Thousands in Recovery Costs
I had two of these HDDs, and both failed within a year. One of them was used for less than 6 months before it completely died, causing me to lose all my data. I spent a lot of money trying to recover the data, but even then, not everything was retrievable. This has been a devastating and costly experience. I strongly advise against buying this drive – it's simply not reliable for anything important.
Failed after 12 months
I bought this disk thinking the brand was reliable but it failed after 12 months, losing my files.
Wanted to rip apart case and get drive
I needed a large 2.5" sata drive which are hard to come by these days but fortunately I was able to rip this case apart and get the drive inside. Minimal damage to case, not that I plan to use the case. As a bonus I now have a USB to SATA converter I can stick on any naked drive to plug it into the computer. Obviously some warranties were voided but..
