It has the ability to hold digital files and store them - for as long as you want. I loaded some files onto it, and was amazed that they were still there when I next opened it. It's very portable too - I can just pick it up and place it anywhere on my desk, no worries. I like the colour, it's sleek, it doesn't make a statement or ask any questions - no one will start a conversation about the colour of your hard drive, great for introverts. The texture soothes me when I'm having a real hard day at work, good for general panic attacks when my other inferior drive dies.

Cons: it's not portable when plugged in - you have to unplug it to move around. Disappointed.

These drives get hot, but there is a simple workaround, using a heat sink.

When writing 3TB of data for 40 hours straight to a drive in a sealed box with no air holes to cool it, it's going to get hot.
When it gets over 50 deg. the drive grinds, bad sectors occur, and finally fails.
Keep the temperature to mid 30's by putting the drives on a metal surface. These drives get hot, but there is a simple workaround, using a heat sink.

Bought this 4TB hard drive as my old one was running out of space. No problems so far, and Seagate drives are always reliable and good value for the price. OK - I like not having to put all my research findings on the cloud - and so having a handy 4 Terrabyte external hard drive is a very useful backup. And I don't have to worry about solar flares and satellites.

I needed a large 2.5" sata drive which are hard to come by these days but fortunately I was able to rip this case apart and get the drive inside. Minimal damage to case, not that I plan to use the case. As a bonus I now have a USB to SATA converter I can stick on any naked drive to plug it into the computer. Whether you want 1, 2, 4, 6, or larger Terabyte portable HDD's, you'll find the perfect size (at quite a good price too) in amongst these drives. I have four or five of them that I use for different jobs. Plug it in, copy across to it, then unplug it - I mean what more do you want..!! They're a bit slower than SSD storage drives but they're more convenient for storage capacity, and cost about a half to a third the price of them too.. Like I said - what more could you want...
