WD Black Edition 4TB 3.5" Internal HDD

Very high constant noise output from drive every 5 seconds. I have brought WD blacks to run in RAID since my first 640GB black set and never had a problem… before this!
These drives are fast but they have a lubrication system that uses the heads causing you to hear the drive heads move every 5sec which is really noisy on a desktop PC.
You can’t turn this feature off! It is happening at a hardware level… Due to the constant movement of the head I expect it to be the part that fails first.

WD black has always been the best in gaming drive spinners. I set my system up as follows.
2TB M.2 PCIe4 for high speed O/S loading and game installations.
A 4TB Samsung SATA SSD for long term storage for stuff that does not change often.
The Western Digital for downloads, browser cache and other stuff that will change a lot as this helps reduce the ware levels on the pricey SSD's WD black has always been the best in gaming drive spinners. I set my system up as follows.

Difficult to find CMR based Hard Drives now, especially bigger than 2TB. The Black series also gives you 5 years warranty. Am using as a backup drive so is over kill but is the only way to get quality mechanics. As others have commented this drive gets hot and has an annoying loud high pitch whine (March 2021). Is especially loud as im using it in an open external USB unit. Thankfully is only used when making backups or else would drive me nuts. They sent it to the wrong address, their web form messed up or something, but my auto filled address wasn't working and I reentered my actual address, which was correct (Christchurch) the drive was sent to the West Coast instead and the only thing matching was my address number, nothing else. I contacted them in regards to this, but no response after quite a few days. I eventually got the drive as the postie called me up etc.

Now, onto the the drive... It's terribly loud and clunky sounding, so much so that it sounds like it's actually moving (not that it is)
