Xiaomi Mi Home Temperature & Humidity Monitor 2 Real-time Monitoring Indoor Temperature & Humidity change, Improve the comfort level of indoor environment

when i bought it i wasn't aware that also works with Amazon Alexa, today after placing the unit next to my heat pump control Panel, i got a notification from Alexa that a new device was installed automatically, so I asked Alexa, what is the temperature in the Control Panel (name i gave it) & Alexa would tell me the Temperature.

Beside being able to see the Temperature from my phone through the MI app, now also have the option to ask Alexa for the temperature, still not sure what else can be done with Alexa.

Neat to have an idea of how hot the rooms are getting around the house. Without a central hub we can't collect data over the web from them, but when near them we can use bluetooth low energy to read them from our phones, and they store a bit of history so we can see how the temperature and humidity have been changing throughout the day. A great little device that comes a with double-sided sticker but I wish there was a better way of mounting it on a wall to make it easier to remove and put back, like when you have to change the batteries. If your looking for a smart monitor - this is not that one. If you're looking for a dumb monitor - this is the one for you. All the smart features require you to be connected via Bluetooth at all times - so really, you need the hub for this else nothing will work once you disconnect .... notifications .... the lot

But if your willing to walk up and manually check this monitor as and when you want this is the device for you - it does that very well. If your looking for a smart monitor - this is not that one. We always wanted a simple temp and humidity monitor in our living room. This little guy does the job brilliantly, without breaking your bank. Highly recommended. I was fed up with analogue hygrometers in my humidor as I never found them as accurate as I'd like and the specialist humidor digital ones are expensive in NZ.
Thought I'd give this a go, even though I was wary that there is no way to calibrate it. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised, and when given the salt calibration test, it read 76% right out of the box! To put this into perspective, 75% is what it should be, but this particular hygrometer states that it has a ~1% variance so I was happy, so this meant that it was performing as promised.

The unit is nice and compact, but there are significant design flaws, namely that the backplate is mounted via adhesive, and you have to remove the backplate to change the battery, so you will need to replace the adhesive every time you need a battery change, which I admit is not frequent, but can be a pain for renters. I prefer version 1 (I have both), of the product. It comes with a mounting plate, which you can detach easily from the unit when you need to change the batteries. This monitor is about 5cmx5cm so not obtrusive. It seems to work fine but remains to be seen how the battery replacement process goes.

Perfect, I carry it around living room and office just to ensure optimal working environment. (Often time you might not realized it's too hot, too cold or too humid until you're sweating in your office so this is good for me for getting a quick glance on the temp.
