Sony WH-1000XM4 Wireless Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones - Black

The headset works fine for about two weeks, one day I leave the headphone charging for longer then the port burnt out. Sony claim I didn't use the charging cable which come with the unit and also the charger is not recommend charger, then refuse to honor the warranty. There is no information on the instruction manual states what charger to be use, I was using this charger for my cell phone and other wireless headset as well. The cable which come with the unit is too short, I use the USB charging cable for my cell phone which is official charging cable for my One Plus cell phone. After doing extensive research on headphones, and comparing to Bose 700, and Sennheiser, Beats, Apple etc - I decided to go for the Sony XM4 and I am happy for it. Exceptional quality, ease of use, comfortable to wear all hours on webex, and mic seems to be improving by the day on the calls. Music quality is exceptional, some tuning may be required in terms of the equaliser in the app - it works better without that software feature in my personal view. App is great though, senses when you are walking and allows more ambient sound so you dont get run over while crossing the road, ambient sound is key to being safe on the road. It can connect seamlessly to two devices at a time, so no pairing disconnecting nonsense from phone to laptop etc. Havent used the google assistant feature yet. Noise canellation is incredible, with a colleague few metres away shouting on his phone, I could ignore him and carry on working...overall you get what you pay for, you pay top dollar for this, and in return get the ultimate quality!

The battery life is seriously impressive too. Some reviews on them criticize call quality, but personally I haven't experienced any issues with that. In summary, buy these. It was easy to set up with help from the Sony website guide, both my phone and my desktop pc (with Bluetooth adapter) connect at the same time!

Nitpicky:

- The touch control doesn't always work when I want to change the volume or skip music.
- I want the Google Assistant to be my default when I press and hold the touch control, but that might be my Samsung phone making me use Bixby.
- The calling has some delay, but that might be my Bluetooth adapter or a software program.

I adore these! They are intuitive, voice turns off to ambient sound, drown out the nice of very noisy sheep, chickens and motorbikes in the paddock. They even know when I take them off and continue playing from where I left off when I put them back on!

Unfortunately, I have mine like for 2-3 hours before I started an RMA guarantee return. My XM4 had a continuously developing "windy" noise in the right ear cup with NC on, which made the headphone unusable after ~15mins... caused nausea and discomfort, so I returned it in the guarantee asap. Probably the process will take at least a month or so...
Beyond the unluck with the faulty piece, the XM4 sounds incredible, there is some improvement compared to the XM3 in sound quality and NC too.

Could be bothering after a while, but I had no chance to try it for the long term. Probably a good Dekoni replacement pad will help the issue as before in case of the XM2 and XM3 too.

The Sony WH-1000XM4, is a great pair of headphones the noise cancelling is amazing. Sound quality being sony is brilliant good Bass, mids and trebbles. Good build quality comes in a good case. Battery life lasts a long time.

Would expect a high-end product to have better build quality than a pair of cheapies. I love listening to stuff on them and the noise cancelling is great BUT I bought these with the intention of also using them in online meetings and phone calls and in that regard these are terrible, so much so I usually end up taking them off. Whenever the mic is involved it seems to pick up and amplify any background noise so the other party in the call or meeting usually complains, using mute can mitigate this but it's not always viable. It mutes all audio when you make a call whether it's through teams or discord with the only way to turn off this obnoxious feature is to directly disable the microphone which as you can imagine is not a valid solution if you wish to use a single device with an inbuilt microphone as only headphones.
