It mutes all audio when you make a call whether it's through teams or discord with the only way to turn off this obnoxious feature is to directly disable the microphone which as you can imagine is not a valid solution if you wish to use a single device with an inbuilt microphone as only headphones. In every other respect these headphones are excellent, but the sync issues I have experienced are really disappointing and renders the multipoint connection feature unusable as disconnecting it is the only way of correcting the issue. A common problem that you won't come across searching for it unless it already happened to you is that using a charger outside the one supplied voids warranty and even if you use the supplied charger only this model is prone to battery problems where it stops charging all together and even whilst charged always reports only 10% battery.

I bought these after losing my beloved Beats Studio 3 to a bad hinge, so went to see what the best pair on the market is. These came up in my search, time and time again.

I was warned by a friend who has these about the challenge of the touch pad on the right ear, and she was right. Sometimes I accidentally go next song when I meant to pause, or increase volume etc. This is the main reason why I'm not giving 5 stars. It is a little bit hard to navigate so I often end up controlling everything with my phone, as opposed to using the headphones alone like I did with my Beats.

Other than that - not much to fault with these. Incredible battery life, comfortable to wear, sleek look, manageable carry case (unlike the bulky Beats one - hence the hinge problem!). And of course, incredible sound quality. There's something special about being able to hear every instrument in a song so clearly!!!!!!!

I bought these with the intention of selling my XM5s. I owned my XM5s for about a year and had some issues that I didn't like to be honest. I couldn't wear them for too long because a point on my head would start hurting - and the bass was lacking for sure, and I mean like there was bass, but it felt pretty shallow (kind of defeating the purpose as to why I purchased them over the XM4). I bought the XM4 and to be honest I like them way more. It folds so the headphones and case are more compact for travel, and the top part of the headphones are padded, meaning that I can wear them for long periods of time, WITHOUT THEM HURTING. Once I EQed the headphones, honestly they are set - they are my companion everywhere I go. As someone that owned them both at one point I can definitely say that the sound on the XM5 is EVER, and I mean like a TINY bit more clear, and better, however - I felt like the significant lack in the bass wasn't something that I preferred at all so I stuck with the XM4. IF YOU HAVE A SMALL HEAD - just go with the XM4s, they're more likely to fit on your head without falling unlike the XM5s. I haven't worked out in these - nor do I intend to so idk abt how they withstand a good workout. But I'm pretty sure they are not designed for that anyway. I liked that the XM4 earcups are softer, so the slightly less clamping force is something I preferred, especially with ANC on because I feel like XM5s with the clamping force and ANC would give me a massive headache. The only real downside to the XM4 is the call quality, and difference in battery life. Call quality is legible but the ones on the XM5 are just much clearer (i.e. someone calls you and they try hear you), Battery: honestly I'm speaking as someone who used the XM5s. Battery life of XM4s is overall is pretty good, just not as much as XM5 that's really it. Honestly I think these are solid all rounder headphones :)

The earlier Sony model was better. You have to download an app. Noise cancelling not great. And worst of all it just wont charge. I had the XM2 version and loved them! Wanted new ones and knew that these would be the best option. Great sound quality but the nosie cancellation is next level. Very happy with my purchase! These headphones have the best noise cancelling I've ever experienced so worth the money for that alone. The sound is great and they are comfortable to wear for long periods. I've found the finger controls on the right earcup a little tricky to get used to and I have yet to really explore everything you can do with these but love them straight out of the box!! These headphones saved my sanity! I needed a good noise cancelling solution due to a very noisy environment and needing to get things done. They're a bit pricey, but worth every penny. The noise cancelling is great, the cover-to-hear function so helpful, and I would recommend these to anyone needing advanced noise cancelling solutions. Five stars! These headphones saved my sanity! After using the Sony Xm2 for three years I was surprised by the difference in materials, and softness of the cups.

Really pleased that the multiple microphone's are far clearer.

Although the hands-free separate channel is still annoying.
