Yamaha's Legendary Block Pattern
Yamaha experienced a resurgence in 2004 and won their first MotoGP Rider and Team Championships since 1992. They were determined to defend these titles in 2005, which marked the 50th anniversary of Yamaha's founding, and also set their sights on capturing the Manufacturers' title. Entering its 4th year in MotoGP, the YZR-M1 was improved for 2005 and featured a 4-stroke inline 4-cylinder 990cc engine that offered greater top speed and fuel efficiency, a fuel tank with low center of gravity, and a rear suspension with the shock attached to the crankcase. Valentino Rossi claimed the Riders' Championship with this bike and it also helped Yamaha win the Team and Manufacturer Championships. A special white with red strobe "block pattern" livery was applied for the Valencia race, which was featured on Yamaha factory team bikes from the 1970s to the 1990s. Valentino Rossi rode this specially-colored YZR-M1 to 3rd place to cap a truly memorable season for Yamaha.
- This is a 1/12 scale plastic assembly kit. Length: 172mm, Width: 56mm.- Features of the 2005 YZR-M1, including the 4-stroke inline 4-cylinder 990cc engine, twin-spar deltabox frame, and a rear suspension with the shock attached to the crankcase, have been accurately reproduced.
- High-quality Cartograf decals are included to reproduce the Valentino Rossi's No.46 machine with a red strobe pattern on the white body fairings livery.
- Front and rear 16.5-inch tires are reproduced with solid rubber.
- Side and seat cowlings can be attached/removed using small screws.
- Color illustrations also included.
