This is a very tough plastic and does the job to stop ripping my carpet up with my computer chair. This is a very tough plastic and does the job to stop ripping my carpet up with my computer chair.

The mat is not firm enough to be effective when used on long pile carpet. The chair wheels 'sink' into the plastic which make it hard to roll around on it. The edges also curl up as a result and if you go off the edge of the mat you get stuck as the wheels end up on the outside of the raised edges and cant roll back without lifting the chair. This chair mat was a replacement for one that I inherited. The one from PB Tech was the best cost in town. For the price I had to order and thought that I may be getting a cheepo but not so. It was the similar standard to the one that I inherited. That one was 10+ years old and I was temoraly repaired if for a year or so This chair mat was a replacement for one that I inherited. Product does what you expect but the packaging was wrapped in a couple of large strips of fragile tape to keep it rolled up which left a visible and sticky residue behind. The tape wasn't even needed.
