Motorola Moto G51 5G (2022) Dual SIM Smartphone - 6GB+128GB - Bright Silver

Firstly the positive: looks good and feels good. Sizeable memory. Negative points : the battery life is short and even shorter after a year, barely lasts a day and drains overnight even though it is NOT being used (others have commented on the poor battery life), cannot find a full facing cover for the phone, I like the front and back covered; the phone is slow to connect, especially in relation to my Xiaomi 11T Pro; I have found it very difficult to use the functions on the phone, most phones are simple to use with easily understood operating systems, NOT this phone. This Motorola mobile has a decent screen size and it is easy to use, screen response is relatively quick overall it is a good phone in comparison to some others however I don't think the camera or battery is no where near as good as my old Xiaomi Redmi note 9pro. The battery seems to only last a day with semi heavy use and needs to be charged more often then I'm use to. I've owned this for 7 months and now it is turning itself off and is unable to be powered back on for at least a couple hours and it's not due to updates however I do see on Google that this is a common issue pretty disappointing.

I've had this phone for two weeks and am already loving it. Super easy to use, crystal clear, and really good considering the price. Especially easy to set up and customise also. Bought the G51 as I've used Motorola before and found them quite good bang for buck. The G51 lives up to that legacy very well. The camera is very good which is important fir me as I take heaps of snaps as we travel NZ. Good size screen, really crisp display and not too weighty yet the battery is quite good. The photography and editing is a battery killer but the G51 does well. Only complaint is perhaps recharge is a tad slow. But that's fairly minor given decent size battery. Ticks all the boxes for a regular phone user. Takes good enough photos for me and I don't need glasses yet.... good enough ram to get you through 2023 and probably 2024 as well. Sidegrading from Redmi Note 9T, pretty comparable features wise, but extended battery life, better screen and snappier processor make this phone next level from my old phone. Screen and Camera are as you would expect from mid level phones, and NFC and 5G are awesome additions. Built in Moto features are super handy too, such as the way it lets you set the behaviour of DND features and the karate chop to turn light on feature is wicked as. Also, I've dropped it about 10 times already on it's front glass and it still looks great. Gorilla Glass is doing it's job. It maybe an ex-demo but it's definitely brand new. For the price I feel very lucky buying this. It's got everything you want and need with a phone and more! No issues with it whatsoever.

Very happy with the phone overall, however a heads up to purchasers, if you're intending to use this phone with Spark/Skinny 5G you may have to contact Spark directly to get them to enable it as as far as they're aware this phone isn't compatible with the Spark network even though it has the correct band support. Completely confused the Spark Shop person when they checked my IMEI and it said I shouldn't even be able to get 4G on Spark. It DOES however get 4G out of the box as you'd expect.

Can't speak for 2degrees or Vodafone but if you're on Spark/Skinny, don't expect 5G to work out of the box.
