Secoundly its supposed to charge the laptop via the usb cable but this dosen't work on all laptops.

thirdly because of the onboard graphics if you use a docked screen as your main screen certain programs (that run fine when the docking station is not plugged in) will fail to run. i've noticed this on Sketchup 2020 & layout 2020 (CAD programs). you can work around this by having the main screen as your laptop screen.

We have been on the hunt for a screen solution that would provide 2 extended screens from a 13" Apple M1 device.
We used this dock with display link technology to achieve this as M1 natively gives you only 1 extended screen.

Our staff use a 3 screen setup (Laptop Screen and 2 Extended Screens) so this fits the bill.
So if anyone is looking for a setup to apply to an Apple M1 13" Device in their fleet, this dock will help.

Awesome product for the price you pay.
I had a bit of trouble getting higher resolutions for my larger monitors but at that price, I was not expecting perfection.
All three displays show decent quality images.
My Ubuntu machine keeps defaulting to the mic port even though I don't have a mic but I suspect that is an OS issue.
Speakers work great when plugged in and haven't had any trouble with the USB ports.
Would recommend. Awesome product for the price you pay.

We have been using this docking station daily for over 3 weeks and, apart from initially downloading the "Display Link" driver from the dell web site to support the extra two video displays, this docking station just plugged in and worked.

Have used it on both on my wife's Lenovo laptop (for work) and my son's Asus laptop for uni so definitely doesn't need to be a Dell laptop. When my wife was moving between work (one extra screen) and home (two extra screens) the drivers/OS seemed to remember the configuration and just came up how she had left it previously. We have generally used it with a wireless keyboard/mouse , a flatbed scanner, headset for Zoom meetings, gigabit Ethernet and two HDMI screens attached with no issues and still ports free for other devices. Very happy with it so far!

Excellent product that works with a "standard" USB and NOT a USB C.

To make this work you need to down load the correct driver, whilst the process to download is simple enough, locating he correct driver could be made clear by Dell.

I was only able to allocate the correct model number by plugin and looking in the system directory. From here under 2 minutes and sorted.

Once installed this worked great, and it really does.

On balance his thing came close to being high-speed frisbee, I was tempted to park the Ute on it. Possibly should come with a warning, ' do not install if you are mildly stupid (like me) and have a short attention span'.

My 83 Year old mum would need a plug and play option. From a first user experience Dell might think to work on this.

Bought to use at home with my work Dell Latitude 7290 - works great, allows me to use 3x screens (2x hi-res 27" LED screens and the notebook screen) which was primary justification for buying .
I travel a lot for work so the only slight disappointment (lack of looking at detail) was it uses USB-3 connection (instead of my work D6000 docking station USB-C) which requires a separate powersupply for the notebook - meaning to remove chance of forgetting the powersupply when travelling, I needed to purchase another so can leave one in my computer bag - would have been cheaper to have purchased the D6000 instead.
