Apple MacBook Air 13" Laptop with M2 Chip - Silver

The thing that is the best is the battery life - I'm currently out of the country and stupidly forgot to bring my charger (and have since discovered that you don't even need the MagSafe charger, you can also charge the laptop via USB-C which is an absolute godsend) but doing about 7 hours of work per day, a full charge will last me 2 days! Amazing! I've only had this for a week so I'm still getting to know the OS but so far so good, very happy with my purchase.

The macbook was a joy to use being a whole lot faster than our older model from 2016 and the screen is excellent to watch videos and movies on.
Unfortunately it is not very resilient as the gold paint is chipping off making it very ugly and the left shift and left option keys have come off.
The touchpad also feels slightly out of alignment.
Apple is not interested in this and the agent simply told us its within acceptable quality for them.

I bought this as an update for my old MacBook Pro. Unsure if I would notice much difference. It runs great and is a nice upgrade with the slim design. Bought 24GB 512GB Air 13" M2 on Monday 4th August. Got it home and it was dead - plugged in power cord and it went into a reboot spiral. Took it straight back to Newmarket branch. Should have got my money back there and then but they had another identical Air 13" in the Auckland Uni branch. That was sent over and picked up today. Got it home and, yes, it was dead too. Battery at '0' zero. Managed to get 1% charge after five hours and actually brought a screen up. Both supposedly 'brand new' laptops in sealed boxes but clearly have actually been sitting in a warehouse for three years and the batteries are drained dead. Been buying Apple products since 1992. No more.
Beware of these old 'new' Apple Air M2 laptops!

Despite all the marketing i have not found this macbook to be that much faster than my older one. For reference it took my old macbook almost 7 hours to render out a project, and with this one it takes about 5 hours. That is just not that great.

The macbook is working fine except our son cant install the programs he needs for his course. we had assumed it was a laptop like any other and it was highly recommended by the sales. so now we have an expensive but very nice looking laptop. I’ve encountered some challenges with this laptop regarding compatibility with game launchers. While I can download the game launcher, the selection of games that run on this device is quite limited. Additionally, the exclusive nature of Apple’s ecosystem means I would need to subscribe to the Apple Game Store to access more games, which adds to the frustration.

Overall, I find myself regretting this purchase. I initially intended to use the laptop for music production, and while it has served that purpose well, I realize I could easily obtain a Windows PC and use a music composition program like Logic instead. I don’t think you’d even need to write much about this MacBook, it’s Apple, they’re the best on the market that’s why we pay the premium for the brand.
