Out of the box this worked immediately for myself, a very simple and easy system to use. I also plan to buy a TP-Link OneMesh router to complement the kit and create a single large wifi bubble.

But...if your wanting the best performance then don't just plug and leave it in the first plugs that allow it to link. Download the tpPLC software for Windows or Mac(there is an app but not sure if these devices are supported yet) and check the link speeds. You may find moving the wifi end from one power point to another increases the link speeds. Note that the software only works when the other end is plugged into your modem.

In my house the link establishes at around 300Mb/s which is easily fine for my Fibre 100 connection and far better than the 10 or so Megabit speeds that the existing poor wireless signal is currently providing.

These are my go to devices for extending WIFI in a home or providing direct cabled connection between devices without actually needing to run cable.
Key tip, never plug into a power multi-board, these only work with a direct connection into the wall socket, and the negative cable of the house wiring needs to be in phase. I researched ethernet-over-power options and this seemed to be the best value for the features offered. It works really well but two aspects are quite negative. Between the extender and the office is a newly renovated bathroom that was fully tiled from floor to ceiling which I think may have caused the black spot.

This particular powerline receiver has built in WIFI which is what I needed for not only my office but also for my other wireless devices that are in use on the other side of the house.

I wasn’t sure if this product was going to be suitable for what I needed which was to extend wi fi coverage to an Airbnb cottage on my property. Guests needed to be able to access wifi. Worked very well and assistant Brad was very knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. It worked like it should. Easy to set up. I had it sorted in minutes. Would recommend. The only issue is it makes it hard to plug in another thing into a double plug. I bought this to try and fix the very spotty internet in my bedroom that is on the the second floor of the house, and opposite side to the modem.
The set up was so easy - I'm not even sure I followed the instructions properly. I plugged in the first unit and connected it to the modem. Then just went upstairs and plugged in the second unit to the wall. It worked straight away! I switched my devices over to the TP-Link Wi-Fi and everything worked perfect!

The connection to my TV, well at least it does connect now! Before it wouldn't even connect but the Google Chromecast would work - however, it would take many attempts to connect my phone to the Chromecast as the internet would constantly drop. Now the connection is much more stable since it is directly to the TV - it still does occasionally drop but recovery is much quicker (if streaming, the apps just buffer briefly rather than throwing up an error message)
So, although not perfect, I'm now not getting stressed or frustrated at all trying to use my phone or watch TV - so highly recommend!
It probably could be perfect if I played around with the settings (as per the advice of another review) but I'm too lazy for that and its definitely working 100x better than it was so - I am happy.

Went into te rapa store to get a bunch of other things to retro fit garage and an awesome staff member suggested buying this product - was told it works through the electricity cabling - didn't even know this tech existed. Plugged it in and it works straight away, now have wifi in garage. Thanks heaps te rapa pb tech.
