Great to see these finally available in New Zealand! Have been slowly upgrading the networks I look after with these since the beginning of the year as stock becomes available and they're a huge upgrade over the previous USG 3P I had been using.

Great new management features and site-to-site VPN that max out my 450mbps upload speeds, and it's nice to be able to update firewall rules without a 5+-minute delay.

If you're a bit more of an advance user, or have a small business to support, and the means to purchase your network hardware in individual pieces then you can't go past one of these. I had to wait six months for the stock to arrive but when it did it is the perfect device for a home network. Easy install and now it is up and running basically looks after its self. I picked this up last week to replace an ancient computer running opnsense. This was extremely easy to set up and get going on my fibre connection and has performed flawlessly since. I've set up a few vlans for IoT and work devices so I can firewall them from the other devices on the network and it has performed great. It sips a lot less power than my previous device did, and being able to send logs out to an SIEM server is an added bonus. I’ve go this connected to my Quik Internet service, configured with both IPv4 and IPv6. I found it easy to configure, and after a few weeks - it seems reliable. I recommend this product. This is an excellent addition to a home network especially if you already have a few Unfi products. I especially love the built-in VPN options, the content filtering and the ability to setup and enforce policies like time/speed/app/domain restrictions for devices. The Hotspot for guest or visitors is great and has stacks of options. It is small but very feature-rich and powerful. The mgmt console is rich and informative and easy to use, locally and remotely. With a subscription to a VPN service, you can integrate this into this gateway directly and have the VPN tunnel (Wireguard or OpenVPN) used for whatever LAN devices you want. Tts one of the models that support BGP with a bit of Cli work. The cheaper models are also good for general use, however I have specific things I want to do with networking.
This is the model most likely to get BGP setup with the GUI. Honestly? FRR CLI syntax makes my teeth itch.

Going the other way, to dream machines. They may offer more in a enterprise environment. For one thing they are rack sized.
They are not, however, any better for my use case.

Migrated from a USG3 (external Unifi-Application to inbuilt on the UCG-Ultra. That was abit of an exercise. But once across, it all seems to be good. After struggle with my stock standard router I went all out on ubiquity and not looking back. This replaced a USG 3P and works great! The WAN fail over is significantly faster, and the extra processing power means I can finally run full traffic identification and other features at line rate.

Dual WAN setup was more obscure than on the USG, it appeared to set it up automatically, but needed another 3rd party gateway network to be created before it would properly enable.
