Epson WorkForce EcoTank ET-4850 Inkjet Multifunction Printer

I had an extremely frustrating experience with my HP printer, when my full, genuine, expensive cartridges were rejected because they had sat on the shelf for a while so their warranty had expired. HP support weren't sympathetic, telling me I should just discard them and buy another set of cartridges. I swore never to fall into that trap again (or buy HP) so I bought this printer as a replacement. The ink tanks are fantastic and the printer came with a lot of ink included, which makes the overall package great value. I intend to purchase genuine Epson ink in the future, but safe in the knowledge that it is a choice, not an obligation. There were two things I really wanted from my new printer buy, I got one of those.
The Eco Tank refills are great but I just wish that I could have got an Eco Tank printer that would print an A3.
In the end I settled for a reasonably well spec'd mid to higher end Eco tank and decided to forego the A3 printing. To be fair, I scan way more than I print.
Once the Epson software is installed, this printer runs great. It's a little slow but then again I'm used to large commercial office printers so a budget home option is likely not quite the same!

Happy with the purchase and would make the same purchase again tomorrow. So stoked with how cheap those ink refill bottles are too.

Just purchased this printer and have to say WOW. Easy to setup, Great functions and tons of ink that will last the average user for maybe a year. The cost of the printer is on the high side, but the savings on ink well out weigh the initial cost. The ink is super cheap when you need replacements and the print quality is stunning. I have no negative remarks for this machine. It has a small footprint and super easy to use. If your in the market for cost savings and overall quality this is a no brainer Just purchased this printer and have to say WOW. This purchase is an upgrade on a previous inkjet printer (different brand). Have only had it a month but so far very pleased overall. The colour printing is a vast improvement, and the borderless feature is fantastic for printing A4 colour posters. Only gripe is haven't been able to scan from printer to PC, probably requires just a little tweak somewhere. Really like that it's compact, and to be rid of ink cartridges is great! It prints double-sided automatically, which is more than the drivers suggested. It comes with decent tanks. The print quality is good on normal paper, very good indeed on photo paper. It was easy to setup. It scans at reasonable quality. It was much easier to setup as a network printer than any previous unit I've used. And it's fast enough. For the money, I doubt if you can do better. I've been a Canon loyalist for years but when the latest one died, the eco tanks in this Brother was what attracted me and they seem to be very good value. I'm very satisfied with the product. The quality is good, the installation was easy and refilling with bottles is a breeze.
I was new to the bottle concept and I'm loving it now as it lasts longer, it's cheaper to print and refilling is an absolutely fool-proof clean process.
I whish it printed faster, but It's still good enough for my needs, which is to print loads of handouts for workshops. I'm very satisfied with the product. The quality is good, the installation was easy and refilling with bottles is a breeze.

This is a great eco-friendly printer for our business. We expect it to pay for itself in less than 3 months through reducing our consumables costs for our old printer. I bought this as I needed a scanner, and I was feeling a bit bad as a I already had an Epson eco-tank (ET-1810). But this is a better printer - the footprint is actually smaller than the 1810 as it has the paper inside, and it can print on both sides which saves paper. I wish I'd bought this first! Very pleased with this purchase. Epsom eco-tank ET-8450 is the ultimate home office printer! Has been using it for a few weeks now, finding it’s very easy to use and the ink tanks really goes a long way, can definitely see the benefit in $$ savings in long run.
