Good sounding speakers for most forms of music , But It does rely on the Sub Woofer, If the sub is turned off the speakers are tinny/treble , But buy when they are on special $228.85 is a bit steep. plus they are 5 - 6 years old now. Probably one of the best speakers in its price category. Clear sound and you can feel the bass pounding in your chest. The best price available for this speaker was from PB at the time of purchase. I bought this speaker system from PBTech for $166.75 plus freight. This is my 5th speaker system and I think it will probably be the last because the quality, the feel, the sound is just so impressive. I can't go more than 50 of the volume unless I want to simulate thunder or earthquake. I can feel my solid Kauri table reverberate. I would describe the bass as tight and realistic. I am truly impressed. I bought this speaker system from PBTech for $166.75 plus freight. I bought this off the recommendation of the store personnel who told me about the THX stamp that these carry. I’ve had them for a week and am not terribly unhappy with them except the super shrill treble which sometimes gives a headache after some time of continuous listening. I wish it had an equalizer or at least a treble control. Bass has a quite a punch and thankfully can be controlled.
Wires are downright ugly. The main speaker to woofer wire is very thick and heavy, which may indicate good build but looks horrible and not something that can be rolled up easily so I've hid mine behind the table.

Seems ok for now though but can see from other reviews here that it’s not a device that is made to last. For similar price the Creative T40 may be a better choice or better still, the Edifier R1700Bt (with Bluetooth), the latter is available with PB Tech, offer better sound quality in a smaller/neater package, although both of them lack a subwoofer but then again, imho, good sound isn’t defined by head-pounding bass and a THX stamp. Now that I’ve bought them, I'll live with them. Having being so critical of them, I must say that some of my friends have been impressed with it, so it might be a matter of personal taste. Be advised that this set does not have an optical audio-in jack unlike the upgraded T625 model. Optical to RCA converter costs upwards of $50.

The volume knob will also cause problems due to cheap switches/potentiometers and bad factory soldering on the PCB. A little googling will reveal that many users are plagued by this issue. These speakers can get very loud, Haven't managed to increase the volume past quarter of the range.
