Yes, it's expensive. Probably more than it needs to be. But if your iPad is a big part of your workflow, it's totally worth it. The trackpad and backlit keyboard supercharges iPadOS and makes it even more of a joy to use. Yes, it's expensive. Probably more than it needs to be. The keyboard is great, the actual mechanism is very well built and feels premium and if you have apple care for your iPad pro that will cover your magic keyboard too which makes it's a bit easier pill to swallow with the price incase something happens accidentally like it falling off your lap.

The USB C port included with the mouse helps too as the iPad can only be put onto it one way, the including USB C port on the spine of the keyboard means you have a port on each side to charge. It can't be used for plugging USB C to SD readers from my experience but for charging it's great.

The keyboard and trackpad are the best part about it. The keys light up and the travel is great and feels just like a MacBook (the older keyboards which have good travel) and the trackpad has all the functions as a normal MacBook trackpad (change the settings in the settings option to change the right-click to the bottom right).

Cons:
The angle that you can adjust the screen is somewhat limited with pointing the screen up more than what you see in the product images really at the limit if can point lower of course but this can be quite challenging when standing up and the iPad is on say a table. Writing on it too while on the stand is quite an art, the weight of the keyboard is slightly too light to put too much pressure on the screen with your hand and pencil without it falling back.
And finally, the weight, the keyboard comes in at nearly the same weight as the actual iPad which isn't so bad on the 11" but on the 12.9" it makes it a similar weight to a macbook air
The price you could buy an iPad mini but that's to be expected with an apple official peripheral.

Overall I'm very happy I got it and it's very useful and my go-to case especially while travelling (within NZ sadly) and the trackpad and keyboard does not disappoint.

The missing star is because of the fabric exterior which easily collects fingerprints and stains- this fabric means that it probably ought to be $50-100 cheaper. If you’re working from home on your dining table or similar you’ll want to give the table a good wipe and dry before laying this on it. The price would be right if the exterior were made of a more easily cleanable material such as plastic or aluminium.
