Used for connecting my laptop to my switches and worked fine until today where the computer will recognize the adaptor but on the adaptor when plugging in ethernet there is no link. I've tried different computers and cables to no avail. Couldn't recommend. I found a RealTek driver for this online that worked for this on Server 2008 R2.
Connection speed is gigabit.
Actual throughput i have not measured. It works.

Purchased this for my wife's laptop which doesn't have an RJ45 and the wifi doesn't reach well to her desk.
With this I was able to run a network cable from one end of the house to the other (underfloor) terminate it and then plug and play.
