OK, so you have your Camera and you need to broadcast, this is the first place you look.
We do broadcast using a Canon M50 straight into OBS and works like a charm. If you want 4k or FHD, just set it up on the camera and the capture card will work smooth.
Some times, the odd times, might freeze or turn of. Ouch, but it is a know issue on all capture cards. Do your homework.
It works also with Zoom and Google Meet, but if you are pumping 4k there, those two will reduce your video quality. Again, do your homework.

Cam Link 4k is one of those things where you can forget how well it does what it's supposed to do. You plug it in a USB3 A-style port, and you get 1080/60.

I love 4k on a lot of things, but in a stream situation, it's fascinatingly good at how nice 1080/60 is to watch. I stream short 60 on everything, and it's clear, crisp, and lovely. If you don't need 4k over 30, this is a great option. And to be fair, I prefer watching 1080/60 over 2160/30. I run two of these at a time (plus 3 NDI) for a 5 camera shoot, and it's very, very smooth for a very good price. Solid gear. I'm using OBS in Linux, and it is a ZERO config operation.... plug it in to the laptop or PC, plug in and turn on an HDMI source, start OBS, and voila! Record/stream to your hearts content - it is that easy. 4K/25p and 1080/50p capture is clean and crispy. I plugged the CAM LINK 4K in and it just worked! No setup nothing. Took full advantage of my Canon R5 4k hdmi feed paired with my new M1 MacBook Pro. No issues at all. There are now many alternatives available but with this you know you are guaranteed to get 4k if required, and reliable 1080 all day long. Cheaper ones from AliX ‘may’ work but with camlink you know it will. I wanted to get this capture card for work, and it is really 100% plug and play! I have an iMac 4K, and I use it for Facetime, Zoom and Youtube live streaming. It really is a great little product for the price.
