Eaton 5E Tower UPS, 2000VA / 1200W, 3 ANZ Outlets, Line Interactive with Automatic Voltage Regulation

I've owned 3 of these for between 3 - 5 years and use them to ride out short outages and provide additional smoothing for any power spikes to protect computer equipment and entertainment center. I've recently purchased a fourth for an additional home office. In the time I've owned them I've had to replace two sets of batteries, but the units themselves have continued to perform without faults.

As others have mentioned, the units can be quite noisy when initially charging or recharging after an outage, and charging can take quite a long time (24 hours or longer if fully drained). If noise is a concern you can consider a lower power fan-less model that may be quieter but will give you shorter time off mains supply.

If replacing the batteries, in this model you'll need a Philips PH1 screwdriver with a 125mm shaft, as the screws are set quite deep into the body. Also be sure to take accurate measurements of the battery dimensions if you can't source the same model battery by part number. For example, I could not source YUASA replacement batteries in an older unit so had to find an equivalent format by another manufacturer. I found Eaton badged batteries in this instance, but there are other manufacturers that market similar dimensioned batteries that would work. The tolerances for fitting the batteries are quite tight so you will want to get this right.

It seems to work fine. Some caveats:

* It requires a USB-B cable if you want to use the control port. And for some reason the slot is at the front rather than the back, so it looks a bit awkward when you plug that in.

This is a very basic UPS but it is rare to find one at this price with Automatic Voltage Regulation. I get a lot of undervolt (brown out) issues and since installing this UPS those issues have disappeared. I bought this to replace a larger rack mounted (4 battery) Eaton UPS. It's not going to give me as much time in the event of an outage, but without a fan that runs constantly it is nice and quiet.
It took approx 10 hours to charge completely when I first plugged it in, and the fan ran the whole time, but once done it does not cause an issue.

Works just like it says on the box simple to setup. I’m using for Starlink dish and two mesh routers to cover grid instability after cyclone Gabrielle - it does the job nicely, has enough output to handle startup load of the Starlink setup (last UPS 800W didn’t) and keep my internet Wi-Fi up during power brown-outs and power-cuts. Not sure how long it will keep it up yet as haven’t had a long power-cut since installing, but handles brown-outs and short power-cuts in its stride.. also will eventually need to replace batteries but no idea how far away that is yet as it’s new.. so far so good :-) Works just like it says on the box simple to setup. This unit has already saved my computer and modem from rebooting and possible damage from multiple second-long powercuts. I'm very happy with it. My only (minor) complaints are that the fan is a bit noisy until the battery is charged (so most of the time it's fine) and that the usb port is on the front instead of on the back, which would be tidier once a cable is plugged in. I would also like a small digital panel on it to display the time left on the battery with the current load instead of warning beeps, but I knew it didn't have this functionality when I bought it. A great little UPS that you can set and forget, that helps protect equipment and keep the network up during power glitches and outages.
Pros: Small physical size, larger battery capacity, IEC outlets for secure connection of equipment.

Will never buy or use again, fans are super noisy and run all the time, randomly beeps during the day and night. These beeps are the unit turning off its outputs (and killing power to anything connected to it).
