How does it work?
Option 1
Buy online and pickup at Auckland Airport
You can buy tax free* tech from PB online via The Mall – Auckland Airport.
- Find the product you want on the PB Tech website
- If you can see tax free* price on the product page, it means this product is available.
- Click the link which will take you to the same listing on The Mall website
- Click ‘Add to cart’ on The Mall, follow the steps through to checkout where you’ll need to enter your international flight details
- Pick-up your order from the Auckland Airport Collection Point in the departures area of the International terminal.
Orders must be placed at least 48 hours before your flight departs.

Option 2
Buy in-store at PB Tech stores and pickup at Auckland Airport
You can buy tax free* tech in-store at PB Tech stores for pick-up at The Collection Point in the departures area of Auckland International Airport.
- Visit a PB Tech store with your flight information and passport number
- Request a tax free* purchase from an in-store salesperson. They will advise the tax free* price and confirm the product is eligible.
- Provide your international flight details and your passport number, then pay for the order upfront.
- We will ship your order to the airport ready for you to collect from the Auckland Airport Collection Point in the departures area of the International terminal.
Orders must be made 3 working days before your flight departs. A minimum $600 order value also applies. Buy Now Pay Later and any other finance options cannot be used for tax free* shopping in-store.

- Open 7 days a week 6:30am - 11:00pm. Departures area of the International terminal – first floor after security.
- A limited selection of popular travel tech is available here, so you will want to check that we have stock in advance.

Not in stock? Request a transfer. If we don't have what you want in stock at our Auckland Airport store you can email [email protected] and we can usually get it transferred there within 24 hours for pay and pickup in-store. Is there a minimum order amount?
Yes, $50 (ex GST) is the minimum order value. This is a GST inclusive price of $57.50.
What products can I get?
Most of our product range is available. Typically we exclude large items that exceed airline cabin baggage allocation and items containing certain batteries and safety hazards are excluded. For shopping via The Mall, items with low or no stock in our main PB Tech distribution centres are also excluded. If a product is eligible, there will be a tax free price* indicated on the product page.
How do I collect my goods?
When you depart the country, you will need to pick up your items from the Auckland Airport Collection Point in the departures area of the International terminal. You will need to bring your passport and boarding pass to the Collection Point to receive the goods and remember to allow sufficient time before your flight departs.
How can I cancel or change my order when it’s already at the Collection Point?
Don't pickup any goods that you intend to return. You will then to contact us to organise a return & refund which can only be actioned once our Airport Store has received the goods back from the Collection Point.
Can I exchange an item after tax free* purchase at a PB Tech store?
We are unable to offer our standard 7-day change of mind for Tax Free* purchases. However, we may be able to offer a refund or credit if the product and condition meets our policy. Any opened items will incur a restocking fee. For faulty items our normal returns process applies.
How soon before my flight must I place an order in order to pick up at Auckland Airport?
You must place your order at least 48 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart. You can also place tax free orders up to 2 months before your flight departs.
Can’t I just purchase a product across the counter and claim the GST back at the airport when I leave?
Unfortunately not, while many countries allow you to do this New Zealand isn’t one of them.
Are there any additional fees when using the Collection Point service?
A surcharge is applied by PB Tech on all tax free orders. The price you see advertised on The Mall already includes all surcharges.
How much do I save?
All goods sold in New Zealand are subject to 15% GST, however by purchasing tax free you will not have to pay the GST on your products. On the product page of eligible products you can view the tax free shopping price (GST excluded + a 5% surcharge).
How long before I travel do I need to make the purchase?
We will need to arrange to courier your purchased items to the airport to be available for your flight, so you need to place your order online no later than 72 hours before your flight and no earlier than 2 months before your flight.
What happens if I forget to collect them?
Contact us and we will get the goods back from the airport and offer you a full refund.
Can I use finance to pay for goods at tax free prices?
No. Laybuy, Q Card or any other finance option cannot be used for tax-free shopping in-store.
