Cruxtec CDK06-SG USB-C to Dual HDMI Display Mini Dock with 100W PD

The 1080P HDMI port did not work initially but a quick e-mail to Cruxtec solved the problem. After installing the driver as specified, the dual HDMI display ports worked as they should.
See instructions below for anyone else having the same issue.

When you insert this product into the computer's USB port, a new removable storage drive will appear in Windows Explorer, usually labeled as "USBDISPLAY."
When you double-click this drive, you will find the device's driver, typically named "MSSUSBDisplay_Windows_V3.0.exe."
Please copy this driver to your local disk, then run it and complete the installation step-by-step.

I've never had a docking station that is so laggy before.

I had a keyboard and mouse dongle plugged into the USB port on the docking station, and the mouse was horribly laggy and jumpy. Then I tried to type and it wouldn't respond - and then what I typed would appear 10-30 seconds later! I removed the dongle from the docking station and plugged it directly into my laptop, and the keyboard and mouse were smooth and instantly responsive.

I then tried to find the drivers for this device. It seems Cruxtec is a ghost brand - they don't even own Cruxtec.com - it is for sale for $795! I finally found what looks like the supplier site, whic...view more I've never had a docking station that is so laggy before.

Prior to installing the driver only one of the HDMI ports worked. (The one labeled 4K was the one working, and the 1080P one wasn't). After nervously installing the driver, both HDMI ports now work. The mouse lag has disappeared, however the keyboard lag is still enormous, making it unusable for having the keyboard dongle in the docking station.

To have to download a file to use a specific port on the stock is annoying. Just a standard plug-in for both would have been a more amazing experience. To be fair I also could have explained that that’s what I was looking for but what do I know?

Also, the file download does not work for my laptop from my MacBook and I keep getting an error and nothing can fix it so how am I supposed to know whether it’s up-to-date or compatible with this dock? will not buy again To have to download a file to use a specific port on the stock is annoying. Don't bother with this - it says it can support two screens through the 2x HDMI, but in reality only one of the slots work. I went in and replaced the faulty one, to get a second unit that only supports one HDMI input at a time.

Great little USB-C dock. Decent port selection and it's nice having 2 HDMI ports as well. However make sure if you're on Mac, that the driver for the second HDMI port is setup properly. Just installing the driver isn't enough on the latest version of Mac OS. To get the 1080p HDMI port to work, you need to first install the driver, and then also in the privacy and security settings of MacOS, you need to allow "Screen & System Audio Recording" for the "MacUsbDisplay" app. Took me a quite a lot of playing around to figure this out.
