Orico M.2 NVME PCle3.0 x4 M.2 SSD Expansion Card

I also own 2 of the dual port cards (1x NGFF M.2, 1x mSATA M.2 slots), so it wasn't difficult when considering this for my 3rd HP z440. Its has been a breath of life into my older workstations that are still on old SATA SSD's. Just be aware that these cards only accept NGFF NVMe M.2 disks, so the latest PCIe 4/5 drive is more than likely incompatible. I bought this along with a Samsung 970 EVO plus NVMe SSD 500 GB for my dell T 5810 workstation. Not sure which one is at fault, but the combination of both didn’t work in my case even after two weeks of fighting with the help of experts online. All sorts of different issues the main one of which is causing the machine non-responsive. I have to return both. Build quality is not very good and the machine wouldn't power on with the card connected. I saw bard reviews when I bought the card and thought it was worth a punt for the price. regret. I was a little unsure about whether this would work in my much longer PCIe x 16 slot, but it fitted in with no bother and worked. I needed this adapater so that I could install a new 1Tb NVMe into the motherboard slot, and put the old 512G on to the card so that I could upgrade to the latest Linux Mint but have both drives bootable. This card allowed that and both drives are working nicely. It did exactly what it was supposed to with no problems. Worked ok with one of my drives, then started to play up a few weeks later. Would flat out refuse to work with a replacement drive, and another one after that. Have endless issues, will be occasionally detected by bios, then won't initialise, device not responding ect ect. Save your money and buy a different one, I will be returning this one unfortunately. Tried to use this with an Intel M10 drive & a Kingston A2000. Did not work at all; neither drive was visible to the OS.
