UGREEN UG-30715 PCIe 4.0(16 ) to M.2 NVMe Expansion Card

I wanted to add a new M.2 SSD to my desktop PC and had no M.2 slots left on my motherboard.
I had a spare PCIEx4 slot on the motherboard.
Purchased the UGREEN UG-30715 Expansion Card and installed the M.2 drive in it and plugged it into the motherboard slot. Turned on the PC and there was my new drive ready for initializing in Windows.

Very easy to do with simple but good instructions and it worked straight away with no issues.

The card comes with a heatsink and 2 different thickness thermal pads.

Pros – Good price, Easy to install, Does what it says it will do.

Cons? – When the M.2 SSD is being accessed there is a white LED on the board that flashes which is quite bright which may annoy some people could be simply fixed with a sharpie pen or similar to darken it

I have a msi z790s MB and it only comes with 2 m.2 slot and i wanted more storage space so decided to get a 4 tb 990evo plus with this adapter working as it should, Good product.
Just a reminder and dont make the same mistake as i do, check your PCIe slot are 4.0 or else you wont be able to run a PCIe 4.0 ssd drive. Also one little thing i dont like is the flashing white led, i place my desktop on my desk and some time the led is a distraction. A really easy way to upgrade your system to allow for addition of an M.2 NVMe drive. Very handy on older systems that do not have native M.2 sockets. Adding an NVMe SSD gives an immediate huge speed boost compared to a mechanical HDD. For me it was simply a case of plug-and-play and it worked immediately. Handy, bright status LED on the card lets you know it is working.

It just sits in the slot by friction - it is small enough that it doesn't really need a mounting screw or extra support.

Note that while this is advertised as "Compatible with PCIe X16/X8/X4 slot" and has the full-length (16x) PCIe connector, only the 4x lanes are connected. So it is actually capped at 4x bandwidth. Also note that the drive may not be bootable with older BIOSes - this is nothing to do with the device itself but a limitation of old BIOSes.

Overall I found this very quick and easy to use and recommend it.
