Short USB cable length solved
A usb extension lead for those nastily short usb plugs that tend to come with certain peripherals. Heavy duty so it can take multiple peripherals at once by combo use of a usb hub. Should help it Susan's the test of time.

Any device plugged into this cable reports a usb2 connection. I brought a second Dynamix cable, same result. Don't buy if you need usb 3 speeds
