Incorrect description. This device is not displaylink certified. It also won't work with a Mac unless you download the driver noted in another review for this device. The driver noted will only mirror, not extend displays with M1 Mac. For actual displaylink certified devices look for the stamp "displaylink certified" on the device. Had to return this. I have an HP Probook and two screens, but my HP only has one HDMI port, 2 x USB and 2 x USB-C, and I didn't want to waste a USB-C port so tried this USB to HDMI adapter, and it works great. Just download the Driver online and away you go. The dongle does get a little bit warm, and sometimes on laptop start-up I do have to remove the USB from the laptop, and plug in again to get the 2nd screen to fire up, but this happens on my HDMI port also so I don't think it's solely related to the adapter. Definitely recommend as you'll be more productive with a 2nd/3rd screen working. I wanted to run two monitors while only having one hdmi port out of my laptop.
I was sceptical at first.
This product works surprisingly well and considering the price I think is a good option for some, All you need to do on your end is download the driver and plug in! took less than 1 min

Cons:
Minor latency but as a second monitor for discord or youtube, works fine!
The dongle is compact but I have found gets very hot with only 5 min of use.. hopefully it lasts long enough until I upgrade to a PC
The usb can be fiddly so don't have it in a spot where it can move. I wanted to run two monitors while only having one hdmi port out of my laptop.

Got this as the HDMI port on my ancient HP pavillion had died and after hours trying to get it going I figured it was a hardware problem and not worth fixing given the age of the laptop but I still wanted to connect to a monitor and not ready to buy a new laptop yet. This works perfectly for my needs, no lag, easy set up, and hopefully the laptop will hold out long enough to justify the price tag but if not, i figure it is a handy adapter to have anyway.
