The camera was easy to activate and pair with a hub which also had to be purchased. Alerts are sent to the phone app. There is also facility to use the onboard speaker to talk with say a delivery person or friend. Also an alarm cam be linked to the device if necessary. Works well with Apple HomeKit too. 4K resolution but normal operation can use lower res to conserve battery and storage. The battery should last 6 months with normal use on a full charge then needs to be recharged. Very happy with he purchase.

Bought this camera to add onto an existing network. Had tried other brands previously and left disappointed so tried Arlo and havent been disappointed. These cameras are better than I expected. Having Swann products I found set up complex compared to Arlo that isn’t and these camera high def gives great quality viewing and sound. The quality of the cameras are unbeatable, and they are so easy to set up. If the camera is in a high traffic area, the batteries will last much less than the six months shown on the Arlo website. Purchased two cameras and a base station. One camera began to fail after 18 months, with an intermittent fault. The charger also failed. PB Tech refused replacement so I had to buy another camera.
Be aware that you need an expensive subscription to store any recorded video, however there is a slot under the base station for an SD card so video can be stored locally, they just don't make this known.

Most captured video I have viewed cannot be used to identify anyone - so not useful at all.
There is no way on either the App or the online management of the cameras to extend the recording time despite what Arlo claim in the Support pages. Unable to get further support because I don't have the subscription.
Based the dual failures of the camera, and the charger, the expensive subscription and the useless video the system produces I cannot recommend this product.

I have had these cameras for about 3 years now. They are slow to pic up people. Sometimes a person can walk halfway unto the view before the camera picks it up. You have to pay for a subsciption for a service that doesnt work well. For example, I've been out and seen someone walk onto the property on the camera and then I go to open the app and it has logged me out. And have to log in again. Will be no good in an emergency. There are much better cameras around for cheaper. But do your self a favour and get a system installed that is proven to work well. These are pretty much the worse cameras money can buy.
