ADATA SE880 2TB USB-C Rugged Portable SSD - 2000Mb/s

This drive is perfectly suited to portable video editing. In a Blackmagic Disk Speed test, it wrote at 950mb/s and read at 905mb/s on a M2 Pro Mac Mini. The small size and simple USB-C connection means I can easily shift it between my desktop and portable computers, so I can continue an Adobe Premiere Pro project on-the-go. The form-factor is small and it won't take up much space when thrown into a bag. It's an ideal small SSD for working on a current project (before possibly archiving it to an HDD). I use an old PC to process astro photos, which requires a lot of temp space on a fast drive. As my system SSD is pretty full my son suggested an external SSD, and this one was within my budget. I didn't realise how fast these were compared to my hard drive, and it has made a huge difference, cutting processing time by hours. Incredibly small and brilliant quality. Finally a drive that can literally fit in your front pocket and it is not a USB thumb drive. 1Tb is great and I have 2 4Tb versions, same physical size, 4 times the storage. Just brilliant. I was looking for a SSD to replace the SD card in a Raspbrry pi and this did the job perfectly. It is fast and plugged straight in and booted up after a couple fstab changes. Now I don't have to worry about wear on SD Cards, this takes care of that for me.

I purchased this drive to use for a Time Machine backup on a Macbook Pro. Piece of cake. No worries. No proprietry software to have to fiddle with and cause compability issues with my machine . It just worked. Did the backup. Wiped the macs internal drive, installed new operating system, restored data from backup on Adata external ssd drive and .,,….. voila. It goes. Awesome!!
