Seagate IronWolf 6TB NAS Internal HDD

Bought 3 of these in 2023. 11 Months with no troubles then one failed SMART tests and developed bad sectors. Transferred the data to the second drive so I could return this under warranty - as the drive filled up, it uncovered bad sectors on that drive too... which then failed SMART after that. Returned the first drive and was issued a credit, used the credit to purchase an Ironwolf 12TB disk... Drive was dead on arrival, wouldn't spin up and wouldn't detect. Tried the drive in every socket of the NAS, made no difference so that's heading back now as well. Really good value and quality product.
Only grumble is PB tech use Aramex as a courier - always unreliable.
This time the items sat in Christchurch for 9 days despite saying they were on their way.
After countless mails, they 'found' them in the warehouse.
Not PB Tech's fault.

This replaced a 9yr old dead IronWolf 3Tb drive (ST3000VN000) in my QNAP NAS, really happy with the performance... Read is doubled and latency has improved exponentially (like 10/20 fold).
The no unexpected down side (as per other reviews) is that it is noisier. I run the NAS inside a cupboard but, particularly during RAID Scrubbing the drive sound is audible in the next room. Sound dampening enclosure now on the plan.

I've slowly been replacing my desktop-rated drives in my Unraid with these. Great performance. The longest running one is currently about 3.5 years and no signs of issues yet. I've had IronWolf drives in my NAS for years and the Power on in days on the old ones were over 3,700 days.

So 2 HDDs have survived my NVR for 12 months so far. 2 instead are at risk of failure and lasted for 6 months.

Bought these drives to grade the capacity for my Synology NAS.

They are a little loud (likely the location of the NAS and drive configuration), they are less loud now that I reconfigured my array storage in the NAS 3x 8Tb's as one array and the 3x 3Tb's as the second array. Other than that so far so good. If your NAS has a special place that is out of the way and noise is not an issue and the noise was not constant I am guessing during wake up and and when maintenance tasks are running.
