WD Red plus 14TB 3.5" NAS Internal HDD

Not the first WD Red to die on me. But I think this may be the last. Barely used at all in my NAS setup with low hours (not always on). Just used to store sensitive data. Randomly died on me less than 18months in, and since I can't wipe it, I can't RMA it. I'm not giving over a drive with sensitive information on it, despite it being dead.

The competition's failure rate has dropped since I was last in the market, might be time to stop falling for the WD Red marketing hype, especially with the non-competitive pricing. I always use Western Digital, and till now have always used Blue, but although the superior Red Plus is usually more expensive it was now a bit cheaper, so I swapped my main internal drive from Blue to Red Plus and moved the Blue into USB caddies to become backups.
