WD Red Pro 6TB 3.5" NAS Internal HDD

I h'm old. Like old enough to have owned hard-drives when they were 20MB (not gigabytes, megabytes). Some have been great, some not so much (e.g. the IBM Deskstar (aka Deathstar)). The WD Reds have been consistent workhorses, and I have never had issues with them. I have had 500GB, 1.5TB, 3TB, 4TB, 8TB, and now (for the purposes of this review) an 18TB version. So far so good. Cannot fault WD hard drives. I leave it going 24-7 and although it runs fairly hot for most of that time, it is pretty much designed for it and the heat is normal from what I have googled. Bought as matching 8TB units unavailable til May, so formatted down to 8TB to replace failed unit, one of 12, under warranty. Great drives though, despite one fail. 5 Year warranty definitely a big plus considering I've had to replace this drive twice (covered by warranty). Initial drive lasted approx. 4 years before Reallocated Sector Count started growing rapidly. Got a replacement under warranty from PBTech, which also started developing Sector errors after 4 days use. I now have another replacement which has been stable for over a month - fingers crossed.
