Segway G2 Max Electric Scooter Max Speed up to 25km/h ( 35km/h Overclocked)

Having never owned a scooter before , I got advice from PBTECH and after a series of questions the G2 had a new owner.
There is much more than just buying a scooter and choosing the cheapest or the fastest, I’m older and heavy and this scooter is stable with suspension and designed to hold up to 120kg , trust me by the time you , your backpack and everything else your taking is weighed this is an important factor .
It has Indicators built into the end caps of handle bar , a loud horn , on long rides it’s easy to ride and stable ,

I bought the Segway Ninebot Max G2 two days ago. Even though I own a Sonic 600 (slightly faster and cheaper than the G2 Max) and a Zoom Stryder Ex (12 kg lighter and a lot lot cheaper) the Segway Ninebot Max G2 is the most comfortable and safe electric scooter ride I've had. It rolls over speed bumps nicely with its 10 inch air-filled tyres and front/rear hydraulic (not spring) suspension. Ground clearance is very good. Speed-wise, Max G2 gets up to 35 kph (as PB Tech claims on their website) but you'll have to endure a code cracking process that took me ages to figure out (otherwise you're stuck at 25 kph). Bought the Max G2 about a month ago after considering getting a cheaper model. I am so glad that I didn't go for the cheaper model with small tires and no suspension.
The triple suspension set up on Max G2 has saved me from falling off the scooter numerous times after going over unexpected potholes and cracks on the footpath. (the state of the footpath in Silverdale is so run down). The suspension also is helpful for people with back issues.
Going over hills is a breeze, even just on the Drive Mode, it really is a joy to ride.

It has a built in fast charger (3A), so no need to carry around heavy charging brick, just the cable. They also provide extra cables with different overseas plugs (EU, US), which if you have the adapters, can utilise as backup charging cables.
Some of the downsides are: the shear weight of the scooter, so if you live on an apartment with no elevator, it will be a tough task. But the build quality is excellent, and there has been no issues with overheating (though I am not a heavy rider).
Weak built in LED headlight, you will need to purchase an extra headlight(s) if considering riding in the dark.
The speedometer is hard to see in the sunlight, but if you mount your phone with the Segway app dashboard mode, you get lot more info during the ride.

Would recommend, 10/10. I bought my scooter to replace most short journeys by car, but I’ve ended up using it even more. It’s a great ride, very smooth, and great acceleration in sport mode. We live in town, so I use it to go to the supermarket and Kmart, and just fold it and put it into the trolley. I use it to go to work, church, and to pick up fast food, which is cheaper than getting Uber eats!

The front light is good enough to be seen, but I’d suggest getting a brighter light from a bike shop or online if doing a lot of night time riding for safety. I reckon I’m saving $20-$30 a week on petrol costs.
Lastly, the online community for this scooter is huge, so you can find a lot of answers to questions you have. Great value for money, but wait until it’s on sale, then you'll have extra money for accessories like a good helmet and light.

A great commuter scooter. Very smooth ride. This is the third scooter I own and though it's not as fast as my Sonic 600, it is a much smoother ride (due to its 10" pneumatic tyres and hydraulic suspension). Have had it for 2 weeks now. Upgraded form a Segway ES4, while the top speed isn't as high using the NZ setup its a more consistently achievable speeed during regular riding.

Eats up the hills and bumbs with great suspension.

Overall 5*. The scooter is a little larger so some may find it a hassle vs an es2/4 on a bus - but worth the hassle overall where the bus route isn't as busy.

Commuting to and from work 5km. I could probably get 3 days out of it on the 'S' (highest power mode) but I charge after 2. I'm sure you would get closer to the promised km distance on eco mode but that doesn't get up to the 25km.

be careful about upgrading the firmware on the scooter if you wish to overclock to 35KM mode, as i had a bit of trouble doing so once I had upgraded the firmware.
