Be aware, strictly speaking, this is not a Bluetooth adapter in the sense that it adds Bluetooth capability to a computer. A classic Bluetooth adapter will allow you to use all kinds of Bluetooth devices and it can be controlled from the OS. The BTD 600 can only be used to connect a Bluetooth audio device to a computer.

How does this work? The USB dongle registers on the computer as a USB audio device, and NOT a Bluetooth device. That’s why I said it’s technically not a Bluetooth adapter.

The dongle has a button to select modes and two status lights that show the mode. The table in the manual showing the status light codes has 14 entries, good luck remembering all those.
By pressing short, long, or several times you control the mode, for example, pair a new device, pair a previously paired device, mute, or change the Bluetooth protocol. Again, good luck remembering all those and you have to remember, because you cannot select those functions through the OS.

A Bluetooth adapter can be disabled from the OS. To disable the BTD 600 dongle you have to unplug it. Sounds easy enough, but a small unit like this can easily get lost.

On the positive, very happy with the sound quality. Compared to my other generic USB adapter, the lag is reduced.

Not so positive, clumsy operation, using a single button and status lights.

The advantage of the computer seeing a standard USB audio device (rather than a Bluetooth device) is that this will work on any device with a USB port and OS that recognizes a standard audio device. This is pretty much any and every device under any OS. Getting a generic Bluetooth dongle to work under exotic/custom Linux or Android distros can be difficult, or doesn’t work at all. For this environment, the BTD 600 really shines. For a user of a Windows computer or Mac, I dare say a good Bluetooth adapter will be easier to use.

Sound quality noticeable improved, now it uses AptX codec (led lights on the dongle indicate the codec) instead of default SBC that was used with previous default bluetooth dongle.

Have used the Air Pods Pro 2 and my Bose qc35 ii, both are easy to connect

I was having problems with a new Dell laptop not connecting or dropping the signal to my Bose 700 headset (No problems with an older laptop). Bought the BTD 600 as it was half the price of the Bose version, plus has a USB-C adapter included. Works great - as long as you immediately update the firmware drivers!!! I bought these so that I could use my XM3 Bluetooth Sony headset with my ps5 for mic support as the wired connection only supports mic input through controller. The quality is horrendous, and everything just sounds mono. This only applies to Ps5 though, with everything else the sound quality is amazing. long story short.. annoying syncing works get bluetooth speakers for cable management.. meh audio quality these days

The family PC didn't come with BlueTooth, which wasn't an issue until we wanted to use headphones while working... this little dongle was perfect.

Easy to set-up, intuitive to use, virtually unnoticed on the PC, and with both USB-C and USB-A, kept other ports free for other uses.
