JBL Tour One M2 Wireless Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones - Black

I’ve had these for a few months. Overall I’m pretty happy with them but there are a few issues you should be aware of.

Pros ---------------------:
Great sound. No issues there. Low, mids and high frequencies are all fantastic.

Build: just fine. The headphone are sturdy enough. However, they have very soft “leather”, both on the ears, and under the head strap. Also on top. Was a bit worried about this getting damaged/scratched, but it’s so far been quite resilient and is tougher than it feels. Good feature is that one side of the headphones folds, allowing you to get them very flat into the case. Some people may not like this as it can make is trickier to get the charger in – but this is minor, and you just need to be mindful to hold them properly when doing this.

Comfort – yes – they’re pretty comfortable overall. Having said that if you wear them for a long period of time, your ears or head might get a bit uncomfortable. But it’s only gentle pressure. I wear glasses and have no issues with the comfort in that regard, and the leather is soft enough to easily fold around most thin glasses. No loss of noise cancelation with normal thin handled glasses.

Noise Cancelation: See cons as there is an annoying issue (which can be fixed – but only using the app). However once that was fixed, I’ve had no issues. The noise cancellation is pretty decent. Much better than my (very old) Bose headphones… but the sound was richer on those (not noticeably though). If this is your first pair of noise cancelling headphone, don’t get your expectations too high… no headphones will block everything out! Also if you wear a cap, they’ll still work fine, but you will notice a loss in noise cancellation which is to be expected. It’s not too bad though.

Calls using phone. No issue here except that it turn on Ambient aware when I’m on a call. Probably can adjust this in the settings but when I’m on a call – I want silence, other than the person I’m talking too!

Cons-------------------:

Issue (solvable, I later found) with Noise cancelation. I actually took my first pair back because of this. They found no fault and replaced them, then got the same issue on the replacement. The issue is that by default the noise cancellation would just cut in and out slightly. Especially when ambient noise is quite low, this happened randomly every 30s to a min roughly. Turned out this was an issue that can be solved in the settings but you will need the (free) app to do this. This was fixed by going into the Ambient sound control (“customize ANC”) in the App and then turning “Adaptive ANC” off. Very annoying, but no issues after that – it just took a while to pinpoint the issue.

Delay when using on PC: If you’re wanting to use these in a studio, or for real-time home music recording – you may want to consider a different product. Mainly because of the delay which makes playing piano keyboard literally impossible, or if you’re trying to record instruments and play “in time” with the music. NOTE – this delay could be an issue with my computer/Bluetooth, rather than the headphones, as I don’t get the same delay using my phone with the headphones - but as far as the PC is concerned, I’ve found no way around this except to change over to the wired connection instead of using the build in Bluetooth. The headphone come with a cable - but it’s pretty short though!

Online gaming. Eeeek. No luck here. Again, could be my PC. I realise that these are not gaming headphones but I can’t for the life of me get them to work for gaming.

Auto play and pause: This can be an issue if you adjust the headphone position on your ears, causing them to pause. Not a major, and can be turned off in the app. Generally works very well though.

"Gestures". You can turn this off in the app, but basically if you have big shoulders and lift your arms up (eg, if you’re in the gym weight lifting) your shoulder will touch the right hand headphone (“touch panel”) and this will pause your music. The feature can be very useful (touch right ear to pause) I wish it was double tap to pause, but you can’t change that. I just ended up turning the touch panel off in the App for this reason.

Only downside was that accidental touches on the headphone stops/starts or does things (not a button), and the band broke after 11 months and was unfixable. I wanted an over ear option instead of the JBL earbuds that I use daily. These sound great and don't require messing around with EQ to get good sound. Pairing is very fast. The ANC works well although that's not my main concern. They are not the loudest headphones, which doesn't bother me too much but is worth knowing. Purchased these mainly for flight, they are super comfortable and have good noise cancelling tech and great sound. JBL's app works a treat for personizing sound preferences.

I have 2 JBL ANC headphone; 650BATNC and these Tour One M2. The noise cancelling algorithm is superior on the Tour One over the 650BTANC. In the last 2 days the firmware was updated to Auracast (hooray!) The JBL app on the iPhone is good. It has custom curves for testing ones own hearing. Also compared to the 650BTANC, the Tour M2 charges on USB-C vs USB-micro I have 2 JBL ANC headphone; 650BATNC and these Tour One M2. The headphones have a good assortment of features. Some of the more annoying ones can be changed in the app. Prior to these I had Club 700 BT's those were louder but with the good NC features these headphones isolate a good deal of sound but it does give an experience of listening to music from a distance. these are also flimsy, not that loud, and make a weird noise sometimes that only goes away after being off for a while, this happens if i use them while running

they broke when i dropped them once, the twist component is not strong at all

Initially want the the JBL 770's but thought I should try these on just to feel them even though they were more expensive. Immediately loved them and got them. ive had these for a few weeks now and i can give a rounded review

good:
super comfy
good build quality
great noise cancelling
battery lasts forever

not good:
too easy to trigger the pause function when touching headphones
don't auto power off if you accidentally leave them on, meaning they will just drain themselves
the rotation of the headphones seems good quality and pretty strong, but if they were gonna break, they are going to over rotate and break that way
they don't go super loud, meaning my phone says the audio is dangerously loud when it doesnt seem that loud compared to my old headphones
