Blocks out a decent amount of plane engine noise- used on 14 hour emirates flights, would wear again on flights to help sleep. Only i wish they could fold up for storage- awkward to carry in bag but not too bad. I would say these are better at blocking out a constant noise such as an engine or little things like a door opening, but not so much people talking. Purchased second pair as birthday present for a uni student child, I have a set of these too. Great headphones, good to wear for long periods. The noise cancelling works well on long haul flights, good sound quality. Good service at PB Tech in Palmerston North too. these were purchased to replace a set of JBL Live 770's that decided to go bad.

compared to the JBL, they are lighter, have better ear cups and more comfortable clamping on the head.
the noise cancelling is more adaptive than the JBL, which i may need to fine tune in the app to get the result i want, when moving around different noise sources.

the build quality, as with all consumer headphones, is my main concern. these are very light, and i don't expect them to take much of a fall. my context is use in and around farm machinery, and in manual jobs. so they may not last long. no damage yet though, so mabye they will surprise me.

I wanted noise-reduction headphones for music, when a use my ride-on mower.

Battery is fantastic, super lightweight great for the gym or even runs. Fit nicely on a larger skull like mine, have had them for about a month and no issues at all.

Only complaints is the build quality feels on the lower side, however this gives it comfortability and its very low weight. Sound is well rounded, good bass. Noise cancelling is very good. I often use these with power tools and it really cuts the noise down.

I had bought the earlier (710N) model about 3 years ago before buying this Sony WH-CH720N Wireless Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones - up to 35 Hours Battery Life - before buying this model for my wife pre air travel - for this price, and anyway, we found these headphones excellent
