Background Information
The third generation Skyline, the C10 series, which underwent a full model change in August 1968, was a hit as soon as it went on sale, and was nicknamed "Aisuka" or "Suka G" due to the popularity of the catchphrase "Skyline of Love" in the commercials. 2000GT-R was first added as a four-door model in February 1969. The 2000 GT-R made its racing debut at the JAF Grand Prix on May 1, 1969. From the first race, it won the TS category in first place, and went on to win many races in a row. In October 1970, the wheelbase was shortened by 70mm compared to the four-door model, and the surfing line of the rear fender was boldly cut to accommodate wider tires. The shortened wheelbase improved cornering performance, reduced the weight of the car, and decreased the projected area. This led to the legendary 49 consecutive victories and determined the unchallenged position of the Hakosuka R.
