The first of many to come
Thanks to continued updates, the M109 self-propelled howitzer series still sees service in the modern day, more than 60 years after the start of its development in 1952. The original M109 was accepted into service in 1963, and its combination of lightweight aluminum body and 405hp liquid-cooled diesel engine could propel the vehicle at up to 56km/h. The main armament was a 20-caliber M126 155mm howitzer, and it was crewed by six. It was assigned to army units from 1963, and by the end of 1969 around 2,100 examples had been produced. The M109 saw action in the Vietnam War, with some receiving an additional commander's cupola and M2 heavy machine gun.
- Plastic model assembly kit of the M109 Self-Propelled Howitzer.
- 1/35 scale.
- Length: 190mm, Width: 90mm.
- The model faithfully captures the form of the M109, including the fully-rotating turret installed with 155mm howitzer.
- Optional commander's gun shield features excellent attention to detail.
- Assembly-type tracks use 1-piece straight sections, while the kit includes a jig to help with the creation of curved sections.
- Excellent attention to details such as the large bolts on the fume extractor, the front-right drainpipe, exhausts, weld joints and more.
- Kit includes commander and 2 infantry figures, in addition to a range of crew accessories.
- Comes with two sets of markings.
