Originally released in 1993, the classic wooden Walking Triceratops model has been rejuvenated to suit modern preferences while maintaining its nostalgic charm. One of the major updates is the transformation of the model's inner mechanics. The older version's metal gearbox and parts have been replaced with a pre-assembled plastic gearbox, which includes a built-in motor and just two cables. This modification not only enhances safety for users but also supports a more straightforward assembly process. In addition, the use of transparent plastics allows enthusiasts to observe the moving mechanisms inside, deepening the educational aspect of the model.

This model boasts practical dimensions for display or play: it measures approximately 284mm in length, 92mm in width, and 115mm in height, with a total weight of about 210g including the battery. It operates using a single AA battery, which provides about four hours of continuous movement. The plastic gearbox design, coupled with minimal wiring, helps newcomers avoid the complicated power unit assembly of the original model, making it accessible to a wider range of ages and skill levels.
