This is a great product - perfect for my home office set up.. Simple to put together, strong and sturdy (it does have a bit of weight to it).

You wouldn't want this product if you want you screen or laptop to be low (close to your desktop), as the arms have an upward tilt that can be adjusted, but will still be 200mm + above desktop

I ended up not using the side clips for the laptop as they are fiddly and kept falling off, but the laptop says put even when raising and lowing my standing desk This product is excellent. 5kg isn't very much for a larger monitor, thought I'd give this a try even though my 27" is a bit heavier than that. Works ok but will gradually sag even on the stiffest setting, have to set it again most mornings. I bought this after getting a sore back during lockdown due to being hunched over with a desk and screen that were too low for me. I wanted dual screens but I use a surface pro which only has 1 display port. It was cheaper to buy this arm which allows me to raise my tablet as high as necessary a use as 1 screen and a proper monitor as my second screen than it was to buy a docking hub. Instructions for putting it together are included and I was able to do it all by myself I bought this after getting a sore back during lockdown due to being hunched over with a desk and screen that were too low for me. Sadly I was unable to continue using my second screen as my (gaming) laptop has both a integrated graphics as part of the cpu (i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz) and a dedicated graphics card which normally only becomes active when a game is launched. My CPU/ integrated graphics is UNABLE to run the second screen on top of it's own screen. Watching Resource Manager shows that either immediately after connecting the second display or within 15 minutes various System32 programs shoot up from a low cpu usage to above 100% usage whereby the display stutters between off and on, then stops using the second screen.

I've tried using Nvidia Control Panel to tell it to always "prefer" the "high performance processor" but there is a notice above this selection saying that windows 10 now controls these decisions with a link to this. The Windows 10 "Graphics Settings" does not have the same amount of options as the Nvidia Control Panel it replaces. It is only capable of telling specific programs to run on the dedicated high performance card however this does not seem to effect programs in the system32 folder which seem to be involved in the problem(?). There is no way to force my dedicated graphics card to run the second display.

If you have a laptop that has both an integrated graphics which is normally used for e.g. internet browsing, video watching and a dedicated graphics card for more demanding applications, I suspect you won't be able to run the second monitor. Just make sure your primary graphics has enough grunt.

Otherwise the product is great:

The spring arms mean you can get nearly double the height from the center metal support bar, perfect for my height.

One thing that didn't look clear on the sales page was that both arms are also height adjustable on the pole. The separate heights are necessary as the laptop sits above the mount but the second screen attaches from it's middle.

I'm using the clamp rather than the grommet (aka drill a hole in the desk).
My desk is 70cm deep and I've been able to get my laptop(35cm wide) and screen (56cm wide) to meet 30cm away from where I'm sitting. Comfortable.

Unfortunately with my second screen (AOC e2450Swh) the result of using a mount with both (VESA) 75mm x 75mm and 100mm x 100mm holes meant that because my screen uses the 75x75 holes combined with dumb placement of the video inputs the mount blocks off the HDMI input, leaving D-SUB free but blocking 1/7th of the DVI input. Nothing a hack saw cutting off one of the bolts that fastens the cable to the screen couldn't fix (even a kitchen knife could've done it).

I've had this stand for a month.
